So, me and my fellow coder made this fun project during the last holiday. It took about 3 weeks to complete, and a couple more weeks to introduce some upgrades!

The basic idea of Spedemania comes from a Finnish TV series from the 90’s, in which contestants (typically celebrities) challenged each other in various types of games. One of those games was called simply “Speed test”, and it was so cool! The show host usually won thanks to excessive practice. That show host was called Spede.
Soon, coin-operated speed test machines appeared in gas station lobbies and supermarkets all over Finland, so the speed test game became very well known.
In the late 2018, I was just thinking myself about how awesome Wii U is, and started thinking about which types of local multiplayer touch screen games would be nice on it. Well, the speed test just popped in my mind. A quick search in Play store revealed several clones of speed test already existed. None of them, however, didn’t even try to be nothing more than clone of the original.
That’s where our team comes in! Now you can make a duel with smartphone and set up party mode with 4 players in tablet / hybrid (touch screen) laptop! We decided the buttons were going to be simply too small for 4 players in smartphone so we had to limit the number of players to 2. This came out as a must party game with tablet!
Still, most people are going to challenge themselves in Spedemania with computer and mouse. The high score hunt is surely exciting as well! The monthly hi-score list is dymanic which means the minimum score gets higher while higher scores are entered to the list. Luckily the minimum score gets reset monthly. Also, it’s easy to get a daily hi-score though since the scores are flushed in every 24 hours.
