You have to manually update it by re-downloading it, then replacing the last game. You may be able to keep a save (if your version had a save), by moving it to the proper save file.
I am having a bug where the game loads, but the loading screen stays up, blocking everything but a pixel on each side. I not 100% sure if the game is loaded completely, but I can rotate the camera, throw the hook, and see items drifting by. I cannot move around or jump though, if that helps.
