Idk tbh. It's just how they wanna display it. I personally think it's fine how they're doing it but I do see your point in having it as a progress bar/percentage but the only thing I can think of that could be an issue with a progress bar/percentage is that it might not be as easy to put into an estimation, how much code there will be. Plus, if there ends up being more than expected, then the time between progress updates potentially becomes less frequent and consistent. Obviously it would be nice to have an overall idea as to how close to the finished product they are but it just might not be that easy.

Either way, I think the current system works fine. It's not perfect but it works.

Sorry if I still didn't quite understand (I'm a lil slow sometimes XD) but this is how I interpreted how I should reply. :))

tbh, I don't really know but I assume it's for more frequent and consistent progress updates. That and its easier to update in small increments rather than large ones especially when they're likely adding a large amount of news scenes to all the characters.

Sure they could go from x/14 to x/28 but honestly its just so people can see the game is being worked on still. If you think about it, giving +2 progress updates is smarter than say +10 for example as during them working through the +10, people might think the games dead but you don't get that issue as much with +2 because there's less time between the progress updates when kept to small amounts.

Also it could be a way to motivate themselves! Everytime they reach their current goal, they can be happy that they reached it and can set a new realistic goal. Basically call it like a dopamine cheat. Every goal achieved is a hit of dopamine which is a hit of motivation cause they're one step closer to finishing the update.

Overall its likely just easier than doing larger progress updates and could be down to their preference on how they wanna give us progress updates.

Well from the fact that code is 18 and story is 16, it seems that 2/18 was baseline code and bug fixes and the rest is story based along with triggers, maybe a new area and minigames. Then as they add the story to the game, they have to code that into the game with the characters photos along with the text box. This means a large chunk of code is just text box and photo position, size and all that sort of stuff.

Basically as they add more story they have to add more text boxes and photos of the characters. But rather than do all the code in one hit, they likely have a rough outline for the story and add lets say 5% of that to the game at a time breaking it into segments so that they can add the correct amount of photos and text boxes without having to delete to much. It also means they dont get story elements in the wrong area. It would be kinda bad if for one moment, Casey showed up during a Chloe scene for example. Its basically to keep in more organised and the process of development smoother. It also keeps people at bay knowing that the game is still being worked on as they can provide smaller updates more frequently.

Obviously I don't know 100% but thats my honest guess as to whats going on.

Sorry for the lengthy reply but:

Unfortunately, because I'm neither the developer or artist and just a guy who is trying to keep the community up to date so that people don't harass the dev or artist, I don't have the ability to make an estimate about it's release date. It could be 2 months or it could be more. One thing to keep in mind is that the development and art are done by separate people who have lives outside this game.

Also, due to the current progress of the story not being completed, new code is being added as the story progresses which causes the release date to shift constantly. Especially with bug fixing. Also, I know this thanks to the current code progression now being 14/14 instead of 12/12 on Moraion's subscribestar.

I'm sure once the story has been finished, we'll start to see Art progress but for now, I would safely say you should expect the game to take 2 or (more likely) more months as a safe estimate as to not get your expectations and hopes up too much. If the update comes sooner, amazing! If not, then so be it. Any creative project takes time to develop. Especially when there are multiple people working on it.

First off, the game is not dead, ya'll just gotta be a little bit more patient. It takes time to make a game. Even if it's simply text and images.

Like last time, here is a link to Moraion's Subscribestar where you can see the updates for yourselves: https://subscribestar.adult/moraion but for those who don't/won't check there, I'll keep posting the progress here when ever it gets updated.

Here's the current progress:

Progress: Version 0.3.5

  • Art: ?????
  • Story: 12/14
  • Code: 14/14

Also, I don't know any details on the progress. For that, you'll need to subscribe to the subscribestar.

Also, no I am not doing this for any amount of likes or anything, I just want ya'll to be up to date with the progress so people don't go and harass the dev or artist.

So looking forward to the next update!!

Also, for those who are curious and haven't/don't check Moraion's subscribestar (https://subscribestar.adult/moraion), here's the current progress:

Absolute truth! People need to learn that games take time. Especially if they want a good quality one that, as you said, is free! Like bro could easy have a price on this game yet he keeps it free which is just nuts with how good it is atm.

Bruh...y'all are so impatient its disrespectful like god damn
