Is it possible to extract all tiles from a screenshot automatically?

Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or not but a new sprite (slice) is not recognized in GML and needs IDE restart.

Genius! Life saver. I will support for sure. I had some confusion about sliced that I think can get some clairifcation. Like the slice name will acttually show up in GM, not the sprite name.

When you do a fade transition in modern graphics its a gradual process, i.e. it starts alpha from 0 and go to 1 to fully opaque.

But what your game has and other 8bit systems have had is its a discreet provess, meaning alpha jumps for example from 1 to 0.75 then 0.5 and so on.

I want to know do you manually do the fade in steps or you enforce something that causes this to happen automatically and perhaps other aspects to feel 8bit as well.

How the fade in and out jumps between colors instead of smooth fade? Do you do something rounding the color value to each integer?

nvm, it works, just doesn't show cart image.

is "ufo.p8" supposed to be Pico-8 version? Because when I added ".png" to it and opened it in my image viewer, it didn't show cart's image.

Hey thanks! Glad you liked it. I always have and had problem with making CA into a game idea and never worked. This was a game jam and I was forced and kinda worked but I really like to make a proper CA game, I've done a lot of prototypes but they always miss something or derive from CA's core principals.

Is there any build that I can play?

Check out "8 Seconds to Die" by me, it's 3D CA too.
