I played this today using Shadowdark.
This Dungeon might be my new favorite thing. I absolutely love it.

The PCs managed to taim the Sloghoppers. With them in tow, they just mawed through the cultists, saved all prisoners and even took the giant bronze totem with them.

10/10 would get filthy again.

Just ran it with Liminal Horror.

This was just great!

Running sandboxes isn't something I'm used to, but it worked tremendously!

There was some prep-work I needed to do, like some handouts, overviews and an NPC-encounter-table, but otherwise this was minimum effort for maximum fun.

Played it. Loved it.
The fact that you can play in the Pvnk's home makes this feel like a very personal and unique experience.

Played this yesterday in a 3 hour session. The players absolutely loved descending down a skeletton.

My tips for hosting this as a oneshot: Ask the players what evil cult they swore revenge on. Let them flavor the cult. Then change the cultists in-game accordingly. This adds some investment on the players' part, sets a clear goal (=take revenge), and it makes the scenario reusable for you. You'll always be surprised who the bad guys are this time.

(In my case, apart from resurrecting the Kill-Giant, the cult was all about eating donkeys. Thus I decided they didn't have high priests, but "head chefs". The prisoners were sewn in a donkey costume. It was great.)

Overall: Quest for the Murder Sword is an excellent dungeon that is easily adaptable to suit any needs. Also, it looks gorgeous.
