It's been a few days and I still haven't gotten the black screen to go away. I can hear everything and move the mouse, but I can't see anything. Has anyone fixed this?

I bought the game just last night. I tried it with linux first but can't get it to do anything. I downloaded it today on windows and all I get is a black screen. I can move the mouse and hear everything. I can't see anything. I've deleted and downloaded it back multiple times. I even restarted my pc. How can I get the black screen to go away?
