I love the look of this! Awesome comic book-like art direction, and you pulled it off well in realtime.

The fidelity and quality of these graphics is really impressive. Great work!

Super cute!

Thank you for your feedback, and for playing! We're glad we ended up doing that with the music.  :)

Good luck to everyone else who participated, buenas suertes a todos!

This is really cool! Does it use some sort of itch.io API to work?

Fun survival run-and-jump game. BEAUTIFUL visual aesthetic. The two types of enemies were cool. When I got the speed boosts... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
Learning how to play (goals, rules) was a bit unintuitive. "Change Direction" didn't seem to really matter. Also wouldn't call this a "speedrun" game since the goal is to last as long as you can.
Overall though, fun casual entry with great visuals! If this were a mobile game, adding tilting of the phone to control some of the movement in a parkour/balancing beam way could add extra fun.

The puzzle was super hard! (until the 3rd or 4th time I tried it and the pieces were in just the right place) Really nice music and even nicer visuals. Could be expanded on a lot in the future. Thank you for sharing this!

So nice to see a text-based game! Really took me back to good old times.
With more time to add more story and puzzles, this could get better and better. Music and sound FX as well.
Very original entry!

What's the fastest time you can complete our superhero secret identity WebGL game?     https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-8/rate/1680638
:)

Yup, that's very good feedback, thank you! Glad you had fun!

Thank you for your feedback, and for playing!
Did you play the WebGL version? That could account for the lag you experienced. The downloadable version runs more smoothly.

It's definitely raining games!  XD

I hope everybody gets at least 20 ratings, good luck everyone!

The graphics are very attractive, and the mechanic of moving the ghost around to attack is really innovative!
Collision detection for the ghost seemed quite buggy though, as the ghost would often pass through the enemies without damaging them, even when I had plenty of energy. It also took many hits from the ghost to kill each enemy, no matter how fast I moved my mouse.
The "R" key for dodge was an unfortunate choice, since it requires using the same finger as pressing "D" for movement, so it limits the directions in which the player can dodge. The Spacebar or a mouse button would have been a nicer input for that. It would have been nice to have music and sound effects, too.
Still, it was a neat idea for the mechanic and theme, and if you fix the bugs and adjust the game balance this could be really fun. Thank you for sharing this game!

This was really fun!!! Cool concept feeling like both Pac-Man and the ghosts.
Even with the wonky camera movement, the game felt really smooth to play, Ghost movement feels just right, and it's an instantly intuitive game. Nice visuals too.  :)
The Traveler's movement was a bit buggy, she would get stuck on walls often and just run in place. Also found the generator spot for the Demons, so I just parked myself in front of that and gobbled up demons infinitely.  XD  And the screams were a bit... MUCH, lol.
Great work, thank you for sharing this game!

Cool game! VERY hectic and challenging.
To me, the controls were unintuitive, which made it difficult for me to move around, attack, and try to control my drone all at the same time. I also had a very hard time telling my allies apart from my enemies.
The music was fun, and all the action going on constantly from all sides was intense. Thank you for sharing your game!

I had fun playing your game, and rated!  :)

Would be happy to hear your feedback, if you have any to offer.

The visuals were really nice! I liked this harsh, graphical style with the torchlight.
It took me a while to figure some things out, like being able to jump on the bugs for a jumping boost (nice trick!) Having to find skulls to keep the torch lit was cool, although it took me many attempts of failing and retrying to begin memorizing the maze.
Since I wanted to run all the time (I didn't see any reason to just walk) it was annoying to have to hold down a key the entire time to do that, instead of just auto-run. Running also felt too slow, considering the size of the map.
Despite the difficulty and somewhat buggy and frustrating controls, I had fun! I kept trying over and over again, wanting to beat the dang maze.  XD  Thank you for sharing this game!

I played your game. I found it extremely challenging, but interesting idea! I think with more playtesting and refining of the controls and difficulty curve, this could be a lot of fun.
Here's ours, hope you enjoy it and would love to hear your feedback if you have any to offer!   https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-8/rate/1680638

Very interesting concept with the movement via turret! And I like the neon geometric shapes for the art style, they're quite pleasing.  :)
I found the game to be very challenging. Frustratingly so. Even after many attempts, I could not get far, kept dying. I couldn't get the hang of correctly timing the turret shots with the player jumps. Also, at one point I got stuck in the corner after activating the lever, and I couldn't seem to push myself backwards to get out.
But thank you for sharing this game, and good luck!

It would be awesome to hear what's the fastest time in which you can complete our game!   https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-8/rate/1680638

Feedback is also appreciated if you have any to offer  :)

Awesome to see so many cool submissions, 1,100 entries is a lot of games! <3  Congratulations everyone on getting to finish and submit yours.

I present to you our take on the theme, called "Secret Identity". Hope you enjoy it:

https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-8/rate/1680638

There's an emergency in your city... a nefarious crime is taking place, and you are the hero to stop it! As a superhero working your day job in your secret identity, you must change into your hero costume and go save the day. However... YOU'RE NOT ALONE. The office is full of people today, and you can't afford to have your identity go public! On top of that, your co-workers are all pestering you for one thing or another - work, work, work... Avoid them as best you can, find a safe private spot, and change into your costume without being detected - and before the time runs out - to save the day and preserve your secret identity!

It takes a little while to load the first time.  :)

Thank you! Yup, there are things we'd like to fix to make the combat against big groups less disorienting, and give the player more control.

This is the juiciest comment in my opinion.

Thank you for your feedback, this is much appreciated!

Glad you had a great time with our game, thank you for your kind words!
Yes, if we get more time to work on this, we'd like to make it easier to understand and control the combat.

Thank you for playing!
Yup, more control and clarity over what the player character is doing, along with better performance, are things we can improve on.

Honestly, we should just call this "Photo Mode: The Game"  ;-D
Thank you for your feedback on bugs and mechanics, much appreciated. And glad you had fun!

Glad you had fun with our game! And yeah, photo mode is infinite fun   :-D

Thank you for your awesome feedback, we'd love to polish this up and add more content in the future.

Oh wait, I can edit the page too, lol. I just added that note!  :)

Put the note about the Photo Mode controls (along with the other controls) in the description here on the Itch page.  :)
