Very polished, satisfying little platformer. Goober definitely grew on me throughout the experience.

Requiring node.js is... brave... but I super duper love the aesthetic of the game and the music. I've never been one for idle/auto games but I love the mechanic of choosing all your dice faces and all of the characters are so cool and funny-looking that I still played it to the end. Awesome

This is a really solid entry! I think breaking out of your one-bit palette a little (think downwell) could have helped the readability a lot, since it took me quite a while to figure out where I was on the board. Overall pretty tough, and lacking a few features, but it's an excellent little game. Despite its simplicity you really nailed the satisfying feeling of getting to upgrade a character a bunch and start powering through everything. Feels great to upgrade my dice rolls a ton and hoon around the board like a maniac. Good stuff!

Thanks so much, I'm glad you like all the attention that went in to making everything feel cool and powerful. The boss was kinda rushed (he went from concept to animated and rigged in less than two hours, our poor modeller) but I'm still pretty proud of how he turned out given the circumstances.

I am aware of that bug you mentioned and I've spent the whole week worrying someone would find it lol. In my 2 AM delirium trying to finish the game I forgot to set the default spawn point, so if you die too early in the tutorial it will respawn you at the coordinates (0, 0, 0), which is below the map. I'm glad that didn't ruin the game entirely for you lol

Super fun entry! With some polish (particularly graphics, but it's a jam game so I'll forgive it) I could totally see myself playing this when I'm bored and need to fill a few minutes. I like the choice of music and sound effects. The aiming on the weapon feels off (feels like you're just sending the bullets in whatever direction the player is facing, rather than towards the mouse cursor relative to where they're spawning)

It's definitely a tough little game, but you've integrated the theme really well into the gameplay and I had to actually kind of rethink the way I use my ammo and when to use rarer dice. I'd like to see this expanded on.

Probably one of my favourites from the jam, but it needs balancing. In its current state it is very difficult, and I feel like the dice doors get in the way of exploration. Too often I would find myself in a battle only a few tiles from a door only to have my dice roll to a different number during the battle.

I love the music and the look of the battles, I'm a total sucker for RPGs.

Cute little game. Felt like exactly the right length. It was pretty easy and the graphics are... rough, but it's a great little proof of concept and I think the mechanics have a lot of potential.

(1 edit)

Fun little game for a few minutes, and I like the online leaderboard. Unfortunately there are a couple of issues (I was able to somehow crowdsurf on a swarm of goblins. hmm) and the game is pretty easy. I enjoyed it otherwise. I like the idea of spawning enemies with dice rolls.

Really satisfying little bullet hell. I do find it a bit concerning that I completed the entire thing damageless on my first attempt but everything was very juicy so I'll excuse it.

Yeah working on this was pretty intense. I'm glad you liked it!

Really cool little text adventure! Could do with some balance tweaks (Man it's funny having the game tell you "You are not prepared" and then obliterating the final boss with 100 dice) but I thought it was really cool and intriguing. I know I didn't find everything that the game has to offer (I find the text a bit hard to read) but all the descriptions are well written and I actually quite like the little dice minigame, although I didn't understand it at first. It's a nice change of pace and very creative compared to a lot of other entries in the jam.

Aww this comment might have just made my week! I'm glad you thought so highly of it! I don't think I could say that anything I've made before has been called a 'masterclass' in anything. I'm so glad you were able to see all the little details we put in there (and see past the wonkiness in other places haha). So glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks so much, I'm glad you like it! I'd definitely look into a more flexible camera system if (when? 😉) we continue working on the game.

Thanks so much! This was kind of my first proper project using CineMachine, so the camera is a tad janky, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out on the whole. I'm glad you liked it!

Yeah letting the player throw infinite dice was a bit of a gamble. For some people it might be slow or crash but it's worth it for everyone else to be able to cause total mayhem lol

Wow totally shameless lol. Thanks for the feedback!

Hear, hear!

This game was definitely overscoped a bit, but we learnt a lot from the process and it gave me the opportunity to try some new things I wouldn't have done otherwise.

Also yes, the main character is the best little dude in any game I have ever made and I will stand by this opinion.

Pretty fun, but the timing on the jump could be a little more lenient. Game doesn't feel like it responds how I'd expect when the dice is in the air. Once I got the hang of the controls it's pretty cool

That's the plan! I'm really happy with how all the VFX turned out for such a short timeframe

I think I made the word “bot” by accident, and the game crashed, not sure if that’s consistent though.

Thanks a lot! (grandma's name is 'Granny Gatling' BTW)

Not the most original idea, but the various twists on the mechanic and the astounding polish on the game makes it excellent.

Thanks!

I like the whip mechanic, and I think it'd be really fun once you get used to it. It takes a really long time to do anything though

oh, i didn't try the download version. I'll have to try that

Game seems neat, if a bit finnicky. Unfortunately sound and music doesn't seem to work for me, but some people seem to have mentioned the music so I didn't penalise my vote for that.

Unfortunately the brutal lives system stopped me from playing this to completion, since the game takes a good minute and a half to start for me. The idea and twist seem fun, but I wish it were more accessible.

Really fun, but unfortunately the game crashed for me. I really like the style and the puzzles.

Cute idea, but it definitely feels like more time was spent on visuals than on gameplay. The level design makes it feel impossible not to break anything, which definitely doesn't feel right.

Pretty cool and cute. I enjoyed the way the characters interact

Actually ended up being really nice. I feel like it needs a proper tutorial, and it could have expanded on the idea a bit, but the game is cute and fun for what it is.

Thanks!

Yeah that seems to be the most common feedback. Thanks though!

Hey, thanks a lot!

This is what I'm doing from now on

Thanks! It ended up being a bit hard but I'm glad that the absurdity made up for it a little lol

Really cool game, but it is very frustrating to begin with. I love a tough puzzle, but I feel like you need to give the player more time to acquaint themselves with the awkward controls before throwing them in the deep end.

Couldn't be my fault
