100% my own fault, leaving my comment here for anyone experiencing the same thing, but removing the mention of "bug" as this was absolutely not your fault, incredible mod!!
I had a game that bugged and followed some steps online that solved the issue, but had me tempering with my token and persistent file in AppData Roaming. This made the achievement not save properly to the persistent file, thank you for mentioning it!
Solution for other dumb dumbs like me:
- Go to User > AppData > Roaming > RenPy
- delete your Persistent folder (make a copy if you want - i have only a handful of RenPy games, I didn't)
- delete your Token folder (same)
- Restart the game and enjoy!

Nice mod! I love the subtle additions that makes it feel like a game more than an AVN, while still being lowkey.
My only issue right now is that the achievements do not seem to "save"... Every time I close the game and reload my save, all achievements show as "Locked" even if I had unlocked them.
I tried with an achievement I got one frame before; saved, closed the game, opened, reload, and bam - achievement is locked.
Any way to keep the progress? Maybe simply have a way to "restart" the progress if we want (like when creating a new save) but keep everything if we chose to otherwise (wallpaper, music, achievements, etc) so that we can 100% complete?
(for info, using v0.8.5, rpa version)
See my reply for a solution if you have been tempering with your RenPy folders like me -_-
A great find, I am overall very pleased with this AVN!
I like the story so far although we have gotten very few development with the main story (art camp). The side stories such as meeting new characters in town, running errands, and talks/scenes with the girls are however very interesting so far, and actually make sense in the small town/summer camp full of young adults context. It does feel a bit "easy" to get some action with strangers, including through Ember (nice word play), while we're having a slow build up with the main women. It would not be great speeding those up, I just find that strangers are a bit unrealistically horny.
I very much like the MC. His personality makes him approachable, he is laid back, funny, confident, and mature. Having the opportunity to be quick with a joke and not having the women find you immature (like in most AVN where you usually need to avoid quick witty comments) is a nice change.
The dialogues are well built, the options are somewhat limited, but diverse enough for us to still get to chose a path. Each character has a unique personality and require us to be a bit chameleon to get them all, or we can stick with a chosen attitude and deal with the consequences. And the women are gorgeous.
Finally, rendering is gorgeous, the decors and environment is diverse and detailed, the scenes are brilliantly animated and designed - I only find that in some cases, we have to "click" too much before the animation starts, it would be nice to have some movements with some dialogues, but it's not the end of the world.
I am certainly eagerly waiting for more updates!
While comparing both games seems fair due to their quality (visuals and writing), they also aim to be two different things.
Eternum aims to be a more mature and complex AVN, as great as any big developers' visual novel, with top-of-its-kind rendering, a high quality and tasteful storytelling, and an infinite-possibility universe. Although sprinkled with comedic relief, mostly from a funny sidekick, the main theme is serious and erotism has a slow build up.
On the other hand, in my view, Realm Invader aims at a larger, more laid back audience that expects comedic relief every other scene; something that can be enjoyed with a little less involvement in the long-term story. It has more action even in normal conversations, a more "aware" MC, earlier/more achievable romantic development with other characters.
They both fill their respective place in the AVN world gracefully, although Realm Invader deserves WAY more attention than it current has.
Too soon to tell but there's also something nice in the MC not necessarily getting to bone everyone. Plus, nothing prevents them from getting more intimate without necessarily going for full on sex - which I personally like tbh.. I know it's a fantasy world, but you don't HAVE to get it on with everyone and make gay people change orientation..
I'll let you play 2.1 to see where this is going, but something tells me there is in fact a Noelle route, however there's no way to say for sure where it'll lead to with the info we currently have.
This game is fairly straightforward, although it does seem forced at some point in the story. There isn't much to do all at once so although there are some tasks to perform, you can't really mix and match them or miss out on anything because they are done sequentially. The story is also cliche, but well built and funny.
All in all, I think I simply wish I had more liberty through the gameplay, I don't really understand the point of having an xp system if I'm just going to spam it and max it out right away, or having nothing to do in the morning and evening until I need to "meet X at night".
The characters are nicely designed, the animation is amazing and the girls have interesting dialogues and pretty hot scenes.
The game could benefit from utilizing its mechanics further (shop, money, xp, multiple story lines at once, random/misseable events, etc.) but where it lacks in narrative it makes up in visuals and the number and frequency of updates it has gotten so far!
Let's be honest, I was not expecting much. Looking at the renders sample before downloading, I thought that the cartoon-ish/anime-ish style would bother me and that the FX were too much..
I was wrong, oh so wrong! I got used to the style very quickly and now understand that the effects are not only for sparkles, but actually serve a purpose. A rather interesting purpose at that! What a turn of event right at the beginning. Also, my cat is looking at me weird, had to bring it out of the room when Cadence was introduced...
I don't think I dislike any one of the characters, they all feel part of the story for the moment, they feel dynamic in their personalities, interact with MC in different fashion, and are, in fact, very well designed and rendered! May I say hot as f. Also, finally an MC with a face.. That non-descript MC rant from Chloe was a highlight for me, and the running gag about MC's attire gets me every time. I think I own this outfit btw...
The animation is amazing, the rendering is gorgeous, the music suits the atmosphere, and the dialogues are hilarious and emotional.. I mean why am I hysterically laughing with a boner 95% of the time? This is both outrageous and very welcomed!
I feel like my choices do really matter and that the story is interesting and the overall intrigue is engaging, although I do feel like there are some (not much) small gaps to explain where/when we are and some odd MC's personality shift. All in all, still one of the best crafted story I've seen in AVNs as of lately.
The "free time" and Lore mechanics are a great way to break the otherwise linear feel of a usual AVN.
I will go eat ice-cream and generate some Embers while I wait for more episodes!
During some scene (usually for a couple of frames or so only, and usually not during animation), you'll see things in the background that were not there a few frames before or that will disappear (e.g.: A pineapple appearing on table for 2 frames). Clicking on them (very small hitbox if you are playing on mobile) will unlock renders.
Pay close attention to the hints for each render and in which scene they are expected to happen.
Bangers after bangers after bangers! What the F HELL Caribdis, how does every update tops the previous one?!
0.6 was incredible! The new Eternum realms, the sequences, the dialogues, the elven lore, the HOTTEST SCENES. This game has already been my top 1 for a while and it just keeps raising the bar (and my "bar"...)
Although that one felt more like straight forward (linear) chapter, the choices were tasteful and brought elegant changes to the narrative without making us missing too many optional dialogues or scenes. I still had to replay it with the walkthrough to get everything, so the amount of choice still feels adequate for an AVN. I'm always stressed when I see two (or more) of the girls accompany me as I fear I'll have to make a choice, but so far, you have stayed true to the harem style game and it feels so rewarding to see our multiple love interest blush at the same comments or during the same sequences.
With Delila, Alex and Annie being my top 3 girls (by VERY close margin with others), this update was an automatic favorite, but I'm still eager to see what you have in mind for the others! That major cliff hanger will have me look at Patreon daily for updates!
Keep it up!
On a Win10 PC, go to Settings > System > Display > (all the way down) Graphics settings, then click Browse and select the Eternum.exe, and finally select "High performance". This window will also tell you if you have a base and a high card, if you have no choice then that's it.
Sorry if this does not solve the issue - hopefully v0.6 will help you or write to Caribdis with the version you are using and a brief summary of you settup (OS and OS version, graphic card and current driver version, which .exe you are using (Eternum vs Eternum-32)) and they might be of better help
Here's a breakdown by popularity (as per many Reddit posts):
1) Luna: Typical emo with a dark past, people will like her because they remind them of a highschool crush and because of her pale skin
2) Penelope: Tig bitty older sister vibe, more mature than other "teens" in the story, will appeal to all of those that prefer maturity but not as far as MILF goes (Nancy)
3) Annie: Bestfriend crush becomes love interest is a tale as old as time, plus she's cute and shy, those who prefer her are usually shy themselves, have had crushes on their bestfriend in the past (or currently) and won't ask them out
4) Alex: The hot goth, approachable yet remains distant, the one that will always get away. This will appeal to a mature but playful audience, plus people that like being the prince charming and help her get away from her mean daddy (yep, she most definitely have daddy issues that will come up later on)
5) Nova: Cheerful weird friend that draws attention without knowing it. She's a bombshell. but she's nerdy so nobody has tried to get close. She's out of nerds' league and too weird for jocks. She's also a bit oblivious about real life (virgin, never had a cellphone, acts weird around people), she'll appeal to likewise people or the exact opposite.
6) Nancy: Mommy. MILF. Queen. A highly mature yet sex deprived woman. Only a well endowed high-energy barely 20 male can satisfy her hunger. She's into roleplay, ageplay, probable incest, and domsub. Will appeal for fans of these kinks and any guy that wants to score a milf.
7) Dalia (personnal favorite): Childhood friend almost a sister. She's the ultimate example of a physical glowup but that has not changed personality. She's the sexiest in the room everywhere she goes, but she's insecure. Nobody has tried to get her attention cause she's too self-focused. but once she opens up, you're her confident. Will appeal to guy who are into fitness girl, but that don't want the drama that comes with the popular fit girl.
Oh, 8) Micaela: Absolute beast of a woman. She doesn't lift weight, the whole room drops. She's probably in the top 50 of densest material on Earth, and top 100 of thing that create gravity in the Solar system. Will appeal to Chang
Probably won't be said by either. MC will not commit to one gal. In my experience with harem-style AVN, "love" is never a main subject and is usually reserved for female, however, Alex is too proud and learned to be independent. They'll fool around - maybe even a 3 some with Dalia at some point would be expected - but I don't think it'll go further in terms of emotion, or at least it'll never be said
What started as an attempt to a quick fap when I first downloaded the 0.2 version in 2021 has now become a staple in both my AVN and VN libraries (I also started and complete Once in a Lifetime in between versions, which is also incredible, but you have clearly progressed as a storyteller and artist).
This is legitimately one of the best story out there. Ton of comedy bits (Chang the Hilarious, Luna and Victor (dad) dark humour, Dalia's glutony), amazing characters' personality (Alex the rebel-ish, Annie's shiness and secret kinkiness, Nancy's boldness and affection), and so much will they, won't they (Penelope teasing MC, Luna and MC never going all the way, Nova and let's not talk about the Egyptian server ever again), and the whole Eternum lore, mysteries, artwork, etc.
This is simply art, and lewdness apart, could very much compete with most anime out there!
Downloaded the 0.5 version a week ago and slowly progressing, and with 0.6 on it's way (a week-ish from now), I don't need any Netflix/Hulu subscription this summer, this is all the content I need! You have my Patreon subscription!
Great job Caribdis, please never stop making content!
Downloaded the latest version last week, been playing in 30-60 mins spurts the past few days and no lag issue on my end - Have you tried looking at your Task Manager to identify bottleneck? Or maybe are you using your imbedded CPU's GPU which are usually not great at rendering 3D animations (e.g. Intel HD Graphic 500)
