Originally, for the intro cutscene we wanted to parody Doom (dramatic subtitles, dip and spread etc) but later simplified to scrolling text. The outro cutscene showed all the planets in a panning shot with parallax and stuff as they all turned into bread, with a cut to black, followed by the “contgrabulatioons” screen. T’was epic
The outro cutscene doesn’t work, but the intro cutscene does work at a specific screenscale, no fullsceen. At least you’ll be able to see the text then so you can understand what I’m saying :/
As an exercise we brainstormed game idea for previous GMTK themes and found that they sounded the most fun when they followed the theme in an unconventional (or somewhat stupid) way, thus the idea of during something with a bread "roll" started to form. Although the reversing bit was kinda forced a bit later with the title/narration. One other title idea that came up during the process was "Into The Breadverse" lol.
yeah, we wanted to do a ksp esque space exploring thing; tried to communicate the fact that to take off you need to spiral rather than going straight up. ty :)
