Make sure you extract the files and keep the .exe file in the same folder that it comes in. Most windows computers will have a pop up message that says something like "windows has prevented this program from running." If you hit details in this pop up window, there will be an option for "run anyways" which will allow the game to boot up.

I understand that the game is a little more demanding on the installation, and I apologize for that. First you need to download the zip file and extract it. I HIGHLY recommend extracting it to the games folder of your computer. Then, simply open the folder called "Halls of Suffering" and double click the .exe file. Most windows computers will display a message that says "windows has prevented this program from running." If you select the advanced option on this window, there will be an option to "Run Anyway." click this option, and the game will run.

Thanks for hosting the jam, old sport. I had a great time and learned a lot from the whole process.
