This isn't overcharged. This is the crappy modified version edited by that modder for his crap video on the mod aka. the "sun is leaking " version.
Actual mod had no such issue, tho given how people(loud minority) piled on that modder noone really got the full story.
THE STORY IN SHORT: most people got the fake version of the mod which was modified by a youtube CC scumbag(who also got the mod ahead of release for his video) for the meme video which blew up. He later distributed this version he modified , around also allegedly pretending to be the dev release on some sites. 
People who got the mod from the actual mod team didn't have any of the issues, only legit source for the mod is their discord. Bunch of drama happened and mod is now "infamous" for no reason, devs got harassed and most had to leave the project due to toxic community but few are still working on it and exposed the OG CC for trying to blackmail them.  However you won't really hear this because they are bad at communicating and still got issues with the HL2 modding commune and CCs especially for their unprofessional coverage.

Way to out yourself as someone who gets cucked all the time
