Soft Assistant in a Sharp Accessories Shop is an uplifting take on the jam's theme of softness. I found the premise funny and enjoyed the game's main mechanic in managing your self-confidence. I also enjoyed the relaxing guitar soundtrack too. Overall, I enjoyed the game for its relatable premise and unique approach to the theme.
Soft Assistant in a Sharp Accessories Shop is an uplifting take on the jam's theme of softness. I found the premise funny and enjoyed the game's main mechanic in managing your self-confidence. From my third time playing (without revealing too much), I liked how the game effectively delivers the idea the on how confidence doesn't just come from the mirror. I also enjoyed the guitar soundtrack too as it conveys the sense of relaxation associated with real confidence. Overall, I enjoyed the game for its relatable premise and unique approach to the theme.
2BOX was an interesting game. While I didn't see much connection to the theme, the physics, the interactive box mechanics, and rewarding particle effects make it an engaging game to come back to. I felt that the game could use more variety in terms of boxes and levels, but I think the game's interactivity gives it a good start.
Carlito's Nightmare is one of the most unique entries I've seen in the Buddy Up Jam. The cartoonish art style, mass hordes of enemies, and hilariously intense soundtrack all reminded me of old Cartoon Network games from my childhood. The thing I love most about the game however is the weapon upgrade system, which allows the player to approach the game in new ways every time they play. Plus the weapons are a creative take on the soft theme. All-in-all, it's an amazing game!
