Good work! I appreciate the old book art, it's very pleasant.

The d6-only approach is great. I was initially wondering about the 13 - two stats approach, but it makes sense: you'll always have at least 1 HP. It's always nice when randomness in character generation has a counterweight.

I'd be excited to see more of what Bascinet has to offer, given there's so many options to go from here. If you ever do a print version, I'll be there!

It definitely influences the tone. If you have a D4 for an ability, it's unusable until you can get an improvement. An interesting thing to work around when "No but" would've been safer/more like other games in the genre. I warmed up to the all-or-nothing approach, haven't decided to change it -- of course we can just go easy on the "and" if we feel it's too punitive.

Completely unrelated, but while I'm commenting: It looks like there's a typo in the physical edition, regarding "resource slot" and "asset slot" being separate terms that are the same thing.

Joining the choir of "please have a reprint," this is good stuff!

Hello! I'm surprised I only just now got a notification for your question, I'm so sorry for the delay!

Since my initial post, I've been able to learn an awful lot more about TTRPG design, dark fantasy fiction and graphic design. (consider it a very productive hiatus...). I had a few playtest sessions that went quite well, validating the core concepts while finding ways to express them more clearly, as well as several pages of Mork Borg compatible monsters on deck -- Soulslike bosses included. You are correct, the goal is to have the game thematically match  Fromsoftware's "fading elegance," preferably with some recognizable terms and values on the character sheet.

The current state of the project: I already had a somewhat detailed Mork Borg hack laid out and several character sheets, which I simply never got around to posting. I will revisit these with fresh eyes and see how to get the most with the least. My goal always was (and will be) to have a PoD zine just like Weird North, a Cairn hack I'm also fond of.

Thanks to your interest, I'll push up my plans to get a WIP out sometime in the moderate-future within two months at the latest. It will depend on if my old work is up to my new standards. If that is unattainable, I may just post what there currently is after a quick touch-up.

Fantastic, I'm glad I asked --- and looking forward to further Grok material!

I got my copy off of Exalted Funeral a little while ago and I think the art cards are a really nice touch, and so is the fleshed-out character creation sheet. I really like the game as is (it's inspired me to get involved with 2400/1400 as well), so I'm curious about what the vision for 2E will be. I'll keep an eye out for further news :)

Hi! Grok fan here -- out of curiosity, what are some of the inspirations for the game? I'm interested in reading/watching the influences for games before I run them, and I figured it'd be cool to pair this off with some media. The science-fantasy angle reminds me of Warhammer 40K, Shadowrun may be an interesting match, and there are a few books that gave me a similar vibe (Hyperion and Ring World)

Hello! Out of curiosity, what is the future for print versions of Glaive V2 (or V1?) I'd love to get my hands on a physical copy.

Hello! Saw your post about VoV 2E -- I'm excited to see what you've got cooking up!

Fantastic art direction. Please let us know if this goes to print.

Awesome, I'll keep an eye out

Hi DGG! Following up on someone else's comment regarding the POD. I am considering getting Cairn off Lulu at some point -- will BDP be available there in the nearish future? If so, I'd like to pick them both up at once :D

Will this be available for purchase from Swordfish Islands? I'd like to pick up the Beyond the Borderlands issues and this in one go, if that is possible.

I appreciate that, looking forward to it!

Can confirm, I asked them recently and they said no, though they said they had "a few floating around."

Do you think it'd be better to just wait and see, or go forward with figuring out how to buy from them?

I would be happy to answer any questions about the game as it develops!

I am also popping in (again) to say, game's one of my favorite versions of ItO's engine, right up there with Mythic Bastionland. If you decide to expand the project, I'd be happy to support it!
