Nice! Congratulations man! Thanks for letting me be a part of it!
Hey guys and gals! Just a quick message to let everyone know that I am a music composer and I would love to create custom tailored music to any of the games that are made during the jam.
I've been writing "traditional" music (rock, pop, funk, etc) for some time now but I am just starting with composing specifically for video games. I am particularly interested in adaptive music and the possibilities it offers for creating a unique and dynamic experience. Hit me up if any of you would like some help in that department!
Ok, new update. I have all the parts of the main song for the game figured out and in FMOD. I am uploading this right now and will send it tomorrow morning. The zip file I am uploading also includes all the stems and parts of the song with each of the loops, in case you are not using FMOD.
I also have the spider sounds half-way there. I will finish them tomorrow and send them as well. =)
How are things on your end?
Edit1: Here's the link to the FMOD project with everything I've mentioned. Spider and other sounds coming later tonight.
Edit2: Here's the link to the sound effects. These include
3 versions of footsteps in different speeds
A door opening and closing (front door of the house, if there is one)
The breath of the kid in 3 different speeds (one for each pace of the footsteps). Maybe everytime he gets scared he breaths faster.
A light switch sound for when the spider is revealed
A sound for the spider which comes courtesy of my frying pan =)
Everybody is welcome to use them, BTW!
Oh, Sorry about that! Forgot to allow downloads. Should be okay now. Below the track, on soundcloud, you should see a download option.
If not, here's a link as well, I uploaded on my cloud. This also contains a WAV file, which is higher quality.
Ok, here's a first draft of the music!
A few notes: The balances might be a bit off since this was a quick mix. But the idea is there. At 0:40 there is an arpeggio that is giving me some grief and that I need to figure out, it's incomplete, I'll figure out how to continue that tomorrow, as I run out of time today. And then at the end you'll hear, around 1:20, some ominous strings. This is intended only for when the prize has been taken, to put some pressure on the player.
I decided to call it get off my lawn, since this poor monsters house is getting invaded.
Let me know what you think, I'm eager to hear your notes on this!
I'm in Argentina. I have the music almost finished, it's looking like Saturday night (my time) for me, too. But you are ahead about 12 hours or so, I think. I'm on GMT -3.
If you mute the sounds I can provide everything. Aside from the music I have the basic sounds for footsteps and a pretty good idea of how to make them sound scarier like in an abandoned house or a humid dark castle. I can get the sounds to you by Sunday for different scares. Do you have a list of the scares you have in mind so far? I'll get started with that spider. I think it needs its own footsteps, a sound for the light switch going on and maybe a hiss sound or something like that? You're in Australia, so on spiders you're probably the expert. I saw the biggest spider ever over there!
This idea sounds awesome and like a lot of fun to play! Are you already working on this? I would love to help out with the music and sound effects!
Hit me up with a message if you'd like to try a few things. I've listened to the track and I'm sure I can make something like that happen with a modern twist. :)

I am aware that there is the option of using Kevin MacLeod's music, as it is listed on the resources. But I tought you guys would appreciate having the music taken care of for the same price (free, that is) but in a custom tailored fashion.
