If I'm reading the rules right, you can get one free Upgrade to a roll if you have a relevant Conviction but any other Upgrades require Alchemy Points. Is that right?

I'm mostly concerned with the full color backgrounds and it'd probably take something away if the color coding were lost so maybe just changing the backgrounds to white and simplifying the item art?

Given the complexity of FITD and the focus on children it might be worth looking into Crescent Moon's simplified version of the system for dice resolution.

Interesting.  The honest forms of bodhisattvas reminds me of Hiroyuki Takei's Butsu Zone manga
