Very cool and funny game! Would absolutely recommend.

Oh sorry my bad, I didn't catch what you were trying to say! I am not very surprised by all the games made with Python, it's actually an extremely friendly and viable language for games (mainly 2D, and if you're gonna have some shaders and stuff it's going to be a little bit harder). I can tell this by direct experience. If you like game development and you're considering Python, go for Pygame CE and check out DaFluffyPotato YT channel, I really recommend it to you. Once you have worked out the main things (which level editor? How to import levels? How do I use OpenGL or similar? Etc), it's really an enjoyable experience IMO.

Thanks for the feedback Robo, I too think something decent could be made from this draft. It would be nice to have undo, cancel lines, having lines to have different colors, and especially to have some GUI - the latter was programmed to be there from scratch but I found I messed up with the libraries I chose, so it wasn't possible in the short amount of time I had at my disposal...

Hey Mikle, thanks for the feedback - I was quite sure it would not work on a machine without Pythone installed. It's a pity, but that's all learning material for me.

I think this is a great concept. I see how this could be extremely useful for game developers and graphics people. Cool entry!

That was funny to use! It's one of these cool tools you use when you are seeking inspiration for a short novel, comic or D&D campaign. Well done!

I love the idea, I love the execution, I love that you may keep this on. I think it's great!!!

Very cute! Also, I always love to see retro tools!

Very cool and original idea. My compliments!

This looks a lot like an old, unfinished project of mine! I think the idea is great. The tool is very easy to use and it delights you with tons of fun. I really liked it!

Thanks man, I appreciate your feedback!

Best vote I've got in my life!

I love you for doing that. LOL

Understood! Thanks jakubtomsu, you gave me a clear picture. Will follow your work for sure!

I'm very curious about it (haven't tried Raylib yet), did you have to touch shaders at all or did you just import models and that was it? Especially for animated materials, I have no idea how that would work...

I tried it. Cool! I don't know many cool 3D projects on Raylib, I was very curious to see its capabilities.

May also be Godot. It's not UE for sure because it has problems with stylized shading!

Hey Dragon, The Chasm is coming on Steam! You have to wait untile October 6th to buy it, but meanwhile you can wishlist it so you'll know when it's out! :) Here's the link: store.steampowered.com/app/1140900/The_Chasm/

Hey Neco! So glad you posted to give feedback. I'm watching your video right now, I can't wait to hear your criticism and I'll gladly comment & like your gameplay! :)
About the permadeath, I'm afraid it's a key mechanic for the game - and for all randomly generated dungeon crawlers in general. I know it's kinda frustrating but it'll make it 100 times more satisfying when you win :)
Gonna finish watching your video! Thanks so much for the visibility!

Hey! Nope, you get a downloadable :( The good news is, if you'd like to wait (it'll take almost a couple of months, not gonna lie) "The Chasm" is going to be sold on Steam :)
Anyway, thank you very much for the interest! It's greatly appreciated :)

You are very welcome ^-^

Hey guys!

I just uploaded my first solo-developed game on @Itch.io and I'd love to know what you think about it! If you don't want to support the project, don't worry, the gameplay video is pretty explanatory (even if it's outdated... working on a trailer right now)! :)

About the game

The Chasm is a fully 3D dungeon crawling experience set in a mine whose depths face an endless pit of cosmic horror. Test your skills in a procedurally generated mine, dig and crawl to its deepest depths and be the miner who closed The Chasm forever... if you can survive the creatures lurking in the darkness!

Try to beat the game and tell me how it went - but be warned, it's pretty challenging!
No known bugs. Windows 32/64bit compatible. Developed with Ureal Engine 4.

I really love this super-pixely minimalistic graphic. My best compliments! :)
