Tips on how to play the game under Linux:

a. Make sure that the executable (GOTOUBUNRE.sh) is executable (using chmod +x GOTOUBUNRE.sh).

Alternatively: bash ./GOTOUBUNRE.sh will do the same thing if you don't need to change the permission.

b. Run the game under the same directory (e.g. /home/<username>/Programs/GOTOUBUNRE-5.0-pc)

c. Instructions unclear? (ignore the wrong spelling of the executable, and also the color because I suck at picking colors at this point)

did you try adding execute permission by chmod +x ./GOTOUBUNRE.sh and ran the game within the game directory?

Game finish review intro:

Hello, the game is wonderful to play on my own computer. As I try to test new ways to play games on linux, I decided to play this game just for fun on one of the harder linux distributions: Arch Linux. The game is well optimized in a Window Manager (like IceWM), consuming around 500 - 800 MB (not bad for a renPy based game). I used to download this game since the early days of development (I think back in last year), but never tried to played it due to school works in the way. When the full version has been released, I was practicing to harness Arch at that point (like to install the dependencies for the game and necessary applications). Today (January 19, 2022), I finally finished the game with all the routes unlocked and bonuses unlocked. The developer note (found in Memory Book > Harem > Developer messages), kinda reminded of when I started to learn programming in my early college days.

Issues?

1. (Linux only) Playing the music video manually in the (Memory Book > (any of the girls really)), stops playing the video immedieately (around 3 seconds) and kicks me back to the Memory Book menu (Only occurs in Linux [tested on Arch Linux 2021.01.01 with linux kernel 5.16.x and IceWM and MATE, and Kubuntu 21.10 with linux kernel 5.13.x and KDE Plasma]. I ended up manually opening the files in mpv. Seems to work fine  in Windows (10) for some reason (not stopping itself in 3 seconds).

2. (Windows only) Is the music video supposed to stop at the end and kicks you back to the Memory Book menu, I ended up pressing TAB (for skip) to jump back to the menu.

Overall review:

Linux compatability is excellent, works rock solid (aside from the minor issues listed at the top), wrting for each of the routes is neat and they have their own personality (surprised on the "breaking the fourth wall part" and ended up brute-forcing my way to unlock the harem route).

THANKS:

Thank you for releasing this game in multiple platforms (Windows/Mac/Linux/Android) and also thank you for the multiple route option (just like We Never Learn or recently Love and Lies). It might be weird on others but you gave multiple options on how to end Quntessential Quintuplets according to their heroine of choice and the battle of Waifus for TQQ will end soon.

(I used vim to edit this script by the way)

Clear Bonus Screen (unlocked):

This game is so cool man! It works in Linux in first try, and isn't too heavy to run (tested on Arch Linux with kernel 5.16.0)
