I can agree with the first 2 parts (although changing a game's genre is bound to lose support and that reaction should be expected), but in my eyes the game just doesn't focus on those strengths you listed anymore. There's less art in total in the game (although the quality is still excellent) and while the writing is nice I don't think most people were playing this game for a high-quality storyline if we're being honest.

From how I see it, the main strengths of the game were always the artwork and the gameplay itself. The artwork is still incredible (although less of it appears), but the game feels way too same-y apart from the art quality now. Pivoting the genre entirely instead of working VN elements into the existing RPG really just got rid of everything that made the game feel unique to me, and to a lot of others. I'd love to be proven wrong about that, but from what we have right now it sadly doesn't feel like I will be.

I'm curious to see where the game goes from here, but I'd just really love to see the game return to the legacy version., at least in part.

The new art is amazing but the old corruption system felt a lot better and really added to the RPG element of the game, letting you choose how Saria would act.

Personally, I would rather these "chapters" (e.g. 1-x) bring you to certain parts of the original map. That way we're able to maintain the storytelling and larger world of 0.16, but we're also able to keep the original legacy gameplay that made the game stand out.

I understand the game is very bare-bones at the moment, but where's the choice to look around the troglodyte caves? Where's the choice to get a better outfit or deck before you do anything? Those choices aren't required per se, but they make the game a hell of a lot more interesting.

The dev has the power and I don't have any issue with that, but the entire genre of the game changing is a very bold move and I personally feel it failed this game; I'd love to be proven wrong in later updates though.
