SwordPlay Alpha has been released -_- And about time.

That seriously took a lot of effort to get it working ;_; Still, what matters that is out :P

Two big points that I need to highlight in this update.

First, I got the game's dedicated server back ^^ The game no longer uses web requests to login and setup matches. With the server back, everything is more smoother.

Second, the battle and control schemes has been completely restructured. No more one button per action. The new scheme is more 'fast pace' friendly this time :)

If you are all not looking forward to the next update, you should be, because you will be able to get 6 players in one match :)

Change Log:

  • Added a brand new Master Server to Project SwordPlay
  • Re-scripted all online features to the new Master Server, instead of the old and slow web request methods
  • Completely restructured the battle and control scheme to something more "fast pace" friendly
  • Added "Spectate" mode to watch a fight in progress (still glitchy for some reason. Will fix in next update)
  • Resized the GUI to something less distracting

My name is Mr.FarePlay, a proud owner of a little fighting game called Project SwordPlay. The game is in 3D and has an anime-ish style. I'm currently in the process of adding the 3rd character to the game.

This is a UNITY project. The final deliverable will be in the form of a unity package. I AM NOT AN ARTIST. The character has to be game-ready. If you are incapable of doing so, please save us both of our time.

Also, please consider that if your delivered work is highly satisfying, you will be commissioned to redo the other 2 characters too, with their animations.

For those who would like to apply, please make sure to give the following information:
*Portfolio or images of recent work (experience fighting animator is a big plus, for future commissions)
*Price per model or per hour
*Estimated delivery time per work

*High-Poly 3D model and weapon with material(s)/textures(s)
*Fully rigged with weapon and root motion (to be animated with Unity Mecanim as a Humanoid animation)
*Basic facial morphs (mostly for eye tracking and combat emotions)
*Designated parts will be modeled separately to be attached to/detached from the body (e.g. hat, weapon)
*Rig will account for Hair and Fabric animations/physics (if applicable)

Good day everyone.

Project SwordPlay has been a one-man team since the start 2017 when last member left. Development has been so slow the project only JUST broken a milestone with its last update a few days ago.

I'm posting this in search for any potential new members that would like to help in advancing the game forward. Any age and skill level is welcomed.

As stated in the title, there is no money. The game doesn't generate revenue and I don't have any >.> Of course, terms will be negotiated if that ever changes.

Honestly, as this stage I'm just looking for anyone who has something I don't, FREE TIME. I only have like 13 hours of free time a week, which I put all of it in the project. So it would be nice to find someone who's willing to share his time for the project.

Hello everyone. I'm not sure what to add here seeing that there is a dedicated devlog section for each project.

So I'm just going to post what has been done so far.

First thing first, the link :)

And a Discord channel for those who like to butt heads with the devs :P

As of update Alpha, Project SwordPlay has the following:

  • 2 playable characters
  • Offline training mode (with an idle opponent. Update soon)
  • Multiplayer mode that only support 1 vs 1 fights. 3 vs 3 fights will come (hopefully) in the next update
  • Match mode to find fight random players
  • Account management. Where players can add, message, and invite other players.
  • account authorization (ONLY ACCOUNTS CAN PLAY FOR NOW)
  • 1 stage
