Good news, the last stage of nightclub can be "beaten". The bad news is the reason for the quotes, after the final cutscene the game just goes to black with no input options. Skipping the cutscene doesn't change anything either. Quitting the game does not save the progress either, so the arcade is still unavailable.
an unfortunate update because you have to beat the nightclub mode before you can access the arcade, but you can't beat the final night, whatever is supposed to trigger the final showdown never happens. In addition sometimes the game will enter a state where you can't do anything, no interactions, no pause menu, and if you lose in this state you can't reset, the prompts that should show up in the bottom right that tell you how to reset or return to menu don't even appear, just a black screen.
You continue to be an inspiration to me as an aspiring game developer. What you share on these posts show the sides of game development that most people don't know or don't care exists. But I care. You're putting in the work, you're solving the problems, you're creating something almost completely new from the ground up, and you're sharing not just your struggles but how you overcome them, along with the why and how.
I've been having fun with this, I like shuffling imps and items around to get as much joy as possible. Experimenting with ingredients is fun too, especially when you get an effect far stronger or way different that expected. The unfortunate thing about the oil mixing is that it's very unpredictable. It's hard to tell which square is going to end up being dominant, as well as pinpointing what colors have what effects, and what colors will show up with most combinations. Still fun, I think I'll be playing it assuming I'll never understand how the mixing works, which is an adventure in it's own right.
I like what I see so far. This feels like a spiritual successor to SDT, something I've been wanting for a while. Some feedback: When starting the game, it defaulted to run on my VR headset instead of my desktop. It would be nice if I had the option to choose which one I wanted to use. Otherwise, the game runs well and looks good, so I'm looking forward to see how it improves.
Giving the answers outright seems against the spirit of the thing, but I did spend more than a couple of hours figuring it all out, so I'll try to give something so others can avoid the same fate.
When Robin asks if you're listening, that's not just idle chatter. Everything that makes a sound is related to a hint in someway, and the sound itself is a hint for one of them.
Some hints will tell you what the card being held is, others will tell you of cards coming up. It'll be trial and error to figure out which is which.
The flower actually has two hints associated with it, be observant and try new things.
I believe there are only 9 hints, you'll have to guess one (though again, the 10/10 isn't great). If you're determined to completely clear it, I recommend figuring out the 9 clues, then guessing the first and resetting until you get it right.
Hopefully the dev doesn't get upset I'm helping out, but as in the game itself, sometimes cooperation is key ;)
