Thanks for checking it out, Glade you liked it!
Yah, I was a solo developer on this project and I spent way too much time trying to find assets. I finally gave up and just used what I could find and ran with it.
I made the particles, but wish I had more time to make them better but glad you liked what I had.
Thanks for the feedback!
- If you are sitting and you hit click 'Standing Mode' you will be close to the ground as if you were "sitting in a chare" which you are :) But if you switch to 'Sitting Mode' you will feel like you are standing even when you are sitting in the chair. So, it is nothing more than a height adjust for sitting
- Yes, I wish I had time to add an in game tutorial but...Game Jam
- I definitely should have added a restart button, wouldn't have taken long and would have reduced a LOT of friction in replaying. I wish I would have started with the whole game loop first as well with Menu, start, restart, etc...
- As far as the Theme goes: You are Delivering your precious (Special) one from the Zombie Apocalypse
I would being willing to bet you guys have 1 or more artist on your team. The art is amazing!
Unfortunately the sound was much too quit for me to understand and it seems that is critical to the experience.
There were some minor interactivity issues, one being that when I grabbed the letter to read it teleported to the desk after the narration was done. I was done reading it and it was a little annoying to have it taken away before I was done and to have to pick it up again.
Over all it looks amazing!
Game Look very cool, love the concept, and narration.
I did have problems though:
- The biggest was motion sickness. Ways to fix it: no close clouds, Teleport
- Very Hard to Control ship since you can't see the ground while steering. Might not be so bad if I could teleport
- Minor issue: On the Rift S my right hand was rotated 180 deg. Not sure if OpenXR might not fix this...
Still look really cool though!! High ratings
LOL
I'm glade you turned your life around ;)
Thanks!
Yes, definitely should have put a restart button. I forget how nice a restart button is when I'm testing since I'm usually just running it once per test and in the editor you only have to push the play button twice if you want to do more.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks! Yah, I was pushing hard at the end but didn't have time to tune or do the things I needed. Had a LOT of delays early on. Too much time looking for assets, trying to think of a design that fit the Theme and a LOT of weird bugs.
Maybe next time :)
I added an after submission update (Not used for voting) that's a bit better.
Wish I had 1 more day for the Jam...
Tutorial! Instructions are for wimps!
Kidding :)
My go-to for games is jump straight in and go back to tutorials if I have trouble, but when I started getting motion sick I forgot about it.
Snap turn aloud me to play a lot longer but without teleport I still had to quit after about 7 min.
That said - AWESOME GAME!!!!
LOVE the art style, and game play mechanics - amazing!
I think you will do well, Good Luck
Ha ha...
So the right controller is only for teleport. I was solo on this project and didn't have time to clean things up
Thank God the house saved the baby! - Lol
I had actually intended to have the babies death from yourself or the zombies be the main Game Over senario but sadly didn't have time to finish the original design.
Probably add it soon!
P.S
But no intentionally trying to kill the poor little baby! :)
