Hi!

I downloaded GMLive and I'm trying to use it with GMS1 1.4.99999.

When I import everything as per the GMS1 guide and run the game. I had to download the extra neko files and copy them into my included files to get gmlive-seriver.exe to run. After adding one live call into a step event of any object I get an error that my GMLive server is out of date.

This is the full error:

___________________________________________
############################################################################################
ERROR in
action number 1
of Async Event: HTTP
for object obj_gmlive:
Outdated GMLive server detected! Please update the included files from the extension.
 at gml_Script_live_async_http_0 (line 7) -        if(l_map[?"version"]==undefined||l_map[?"version"]<105)show_error("Outdated GMLive server detected! Please update the included files from the extension.",false);
############################################################################################

stack frame is
gml_Script_live_async_http_0 (line 7)
called from - gml_Script_live_async_http (line 20) -        if(g_live_request_guid==undefined)live_async_http_0(l_map);
called from - gml_Object_obj_gmlive_WebAsyncEvent_1 (line 1) - live_async_http();

I'm including a zipped project file here that gives me this error. If I can provide anything else that would help us fix this that would be awesome as the extension looks really cool.

Project:  <snip>

Thank you!

I tried doing what was suggested here: so just grabbing the gmlive-server.exe from the 2.3GMS file and this seems to work! It still looks like the GMS1 package should be updated tho!!

Woop, ok I found the log files:

Thank you for using Playscii! <3

I'm running this on a i7-8550U processor. Does playscii not support igpus?

Hi! is there some prerequisite that I should have installed before I can run this? I am on Windows 10, 64bit and I double click the .exe a program opens for a split second and then closes. I have pyhton 2.7 installed on my machine (if this is relevant). Is there any log or something I can provide?

Edit: I run my windows with an external GPU sometimes, I was currently not connected to that external GPU. For some reason I think that windows wanted to run the thing on the external GPU regardless of what I told it. If I uninstalled the drivers for the eGPU it started working. Sorry for the bother.

Edit 2: While I got it running now, egpu being out of the equasion, the same happens when I try to open the preferences window - just a crash. I wanted to change the location where the files are being saved and was searching for a way to do that.

Literally BEATS beat saber at being beat saber.

Hey David,
that definitely sounds like a bug that needs to be squashed 🐛

The code is a bit of a mess, but I'll try to look into it over the weekend and fix it. Thank you for playing tho, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

It's super cute. i love that you can stack everything it makes everything in the world feel like it's something more. the plant loving racoon in the end is my sprit animal.

This is fantastic! can it be set as an actual screensaver?  How did you make the ships? They seem to tilt very smoothly so I'm guessing they are 3d models?

EDIT: It's super simple, just right click on the .scr and hit install!

I am LOVING the post breach music! Excellent job with the gameplay, keeping it very gutwhale but giving it a very space vibe!

I really enjoyed this! Super cool use of the void as a tetris like way to limit the player and punish you!

Hey! James has it on his soundcloud https://soundcloud.com/user-508229127/fwd

hey daniel! I'm looking to add a speedrun mode that lets you string levels together and adding a general timer sometime next week :)!

Hi!

I was wondering if it's somehow possible to change the colours via hex values or maybe import a colour pallet. We are trying to use it for a project and not being able to use exact coluors is creating a tedious workflow of exporting -> importing into aseprite -> changing colours into intended colours on aseprite.

Hello! Judging form the description I'm assuming it will work but I wanted to ask since I see that the asset was last updated in 2017 and that it is not available on the Unity store anymore.

Thank you!

I really liked the vibe of this thing!! Nice use of the top down 3d objecty thingies to mask a bit of the world :)

Hi thank you so much! I've noticed that the crowbar gets stuck sometimes as well after submitting the game but I'm not really sure why that is happening. I'll definitely look into it but I hope you were able to finish the game regardless. You can just try avoiding the enemies and b-lining for the buttons in the worst case.

Thank you for the feedback! I feel like the combat is the worst part of the game as it's nothing unique :')

yeah, I should have changed the waddling speed to be fast haha. or you could call it the classic prolonging the gameplay trick 👈😎👈

No way I'm fixing them but what did you find :D?

This is great! It feels nice to play and the controls are very satisfying. Good job!

Hi droqen, I'm Brin. I make loads of small games and usually participate in 1-ish game jam per week of varied lengths. This seems perfect and I can't wait to be done with my uni project so I can focus on a bit of variety :)

Hey James, have you found anyone to work with yet so far? If not feel free to message me on discord - Brin#4751

Hey! This is beautiful!! For some reason the itch.io client does not want to install the linux version but downloading it manually seems to work more than fine thankfully.

One up for Construct, it's great and even if you use the free version you can learn a lot! An open source (and free) alternative would be godevelop which can also run in a browser.

Hi! Would it be possible to get a Linux build as well? It seems like a really nice thing and considering you are supporting the weird and unusual inside of games getting support for the weird and unusual in terms of OS choice would only seem fitting :)

Thanks for the kind words! Disco felt like such a fun spin on the theme! The is another disco room in the jam actually!

In terms of the feedback, I realise that this can be am optimal strategy at times but we weren’t really sure how to fix it without breaking the other strategies (would be happy to hear if you have any idea on this). So I decided to play into that and used it as the intro to level four :)

I would be happy to get some feedback on disco room :)

🤔 Hmmm

Givd some sound based feedback when you hit/miss a tune. I think the satisfaction in the rythm games like these is "playing" the song.

Otherwise some really neat tweening :)

The movement is really well done!!

Hahaha really nice! I love it. Kind of gave me snake vibes with your duck line up becoming ever bigger. Also I'm not sure where the logic of ducks getting cut into candy comes from but it fits in very well!

The art is adorable, I love how this is essentially a "build your own disc room"

This game certainly does pull you towards itself.

At least for me (Firefox 82) going full screen just makes the game super small in the top right. I wanna try it out, but I aint no ant :<

Really awesome entry! I couldn't pass the tele room, I need to adjust my play-style more for it but the telegraphs are very clear and room 3 is simply a slapper. Good job!
