Android also try changing download location, clear browser cache/history. Settings>apps>chrome>storage>clear cache

You don't need to read the book. When Leslie gives you the book. You already learn the crafting recipe. Go to the crafting bench, select craft item. On the list of craftable items, if you are an android, tap once and just slide down, it'll scroll down and you can see additional crafting items.
