That's 100% a bug, then. I think wolves are either snow + life or life + snow.

I'm really glad that you noticed the optimisation. It took 3 days of nothing but having a good time and loving my job to setup :P

Speaking of upgrading the desk, I'm currently focused on finishing the full game, with the  dark storyline and everything. Here's a little peek at the more advanced desk!

The camera under the desk is actually only supposed to pop up when you start becoming 'more suspicious that any other employee in the

involunteering programme.

I do think shadows would help greatly, yes :) It'd add to the immersiveness factor quite a bit.

The game felt almost like I wasn't playing a game... if that makes any sense? I couldn't find myself situated in the game's world.

Not a big fan of the artstyle. That's it. That's really the one negative thing I could say about this game!

It's impressive given the time constraints, it's fun and the inventory system is tight and responsive. Great work overall.

This didn't exactly land for me, and I'm not sure why. I think the graphics may have put me off, which is sad because the rest of the game was very compelling. I loved the grappling mechanic, and had countless minutes of fun with it!

After reading your instructions down below, and giving the game the 'ole college try;

It's  cute, fun little game :) A little bit of polish could see this being something I'd pay money for.

Played through as much as I could before eventually giving in to the confusion. A tutorial would have been very helped :) I spoke to someone, and the entire scene changed, but nothing had new interactions.

I'd like to see what could become of this game, as I quite enjoy the humor!

Your game was fantastic :) I love games where theres some depth and exploration. I spent quite a while studying how everything was put together.

Tahnks a million SixthMoon! I know that I must sound like a broken record, but it really does mean a lot that you took the time to play my little game.

Lots of love!

That's great to bear Balint! If you ever need a beta tester, I am on the Discord as "Aroura Borelais".

It makes my little nerd heart so happy that you enjoyed my game, Foggzie. Thank you for your kind words!

Thanks Mighty :)

I'm really glad you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed your game!

Hey Dawee!

Thank you very much for your kind review! As it currently stands, I'm currently rebuilding the entire game from the ground up, so keep an eye out for updates :) Crafting will be altered and repaired in future updates, for sure.

Before I start, I'd like to say that although this isn't my kind of game, I still found it impressive and worthy of a play.

I'm sure there are many different people who would enjoy this game very much. It wasn't personally my cup of tea, but I do still think that it achieved something very impressive for the timespan that it was made in.

I'd have liked to have seen a bit more of the tutorial explained through play, or at least accessible later on, as I found myself restarting the game a few times before I got the hang of everything.

The concept was very clever and well executed, and the way the different species are put together with the 'goo' is interesting.

All in all, I'd say that this fits the theme of this jam 100%, but it just didn't stick for me.

Will definetely be continuing this project :) Thanks for playing my little game! It means the world to me that people actually enjoy it!

Thank you so very much! I will definetely be expanding on the game with a lot of the stuff you requested, and even more!

The original idea was to have the player looking down at a desk with a terrarium on it. Then you can decide whether or not to build inside of it, it perhaps even drop things in from your desk (I.E. A glass of water would cause a 'great flood').

Absolutely! Please give me a reply if / when that happens :) I really enjoyed this.

Very enjoyable little game/mini-game-type-thingy! The AI was challenging enough to keep things interesting, while not being entirely focused on the player the whole time.

The 'Tetris piece' crafting of your ship was absolutely brilliant. Despite having this comment/review-type-thingy typed out, I actually just went back for another round!

My only complaints:

  • The music doesn't loop. Things got quite desolate after the first few minutes.
  • The AI seems a little too focused on acquiring the power-ups? Time-boosters? Shields? I noticed many times I could catch one of them out by simply sitting near a power-up and waiting.

Highly recommended game!

This game definitely deserves more attention that it's getting. I very much enjoyed the low-fidelity aesthetic, and the game play itself was quite fun once I got the hang of things.

I was not a huge fan of the controls, or the fact that the game requires installation, as it could have very easily been made into a single executable, or even a zip file if completely necessary.

I got all 5 batteries and beat the game, and overall it was a fun little game. The artwork, despite the (3-bit?) design was very well crafted, and I could easily recognize everything the artist was trying to portray, despite the lack of colors and pixels.

It's clear that a lot of love was put into this project.

I managed to work out a few things after messing around, and can see that this game would be quite fun and challenging if it were a bit more polished.

Sadly, with the deadline for the jam, I can see why the project didn't see completion. I'd like to see a more 'buffed up' version of this game in the future :).

I must agree with Ampersand Game Studios on something... the day & night indicator was a very cute addition!

P.S. The intro + tutorial was worked very nicely into the game play.

I said in a previous comment that puzzles aren't really my thing, but I might be starting to come around!

I surprisingly enjoyed this, and many of the levels left me scratching my head. I'll be coming back later to complete the rest. I refuse to be beaten by cubes!

I ended up playing this for longer than I probably should have. I REALLY like the 'open' crafting mechanic, and the way it lets to combine different abilities to make the perfect gun.

I'd like liked to have seen some sound effects, and perhaps an ending in the black part of the cave, but other than that it was pretty fun!

I'm unable to review your game, as it instantly crashes on my system, with no output as to why. I'm always a fan of looking at someone's first time project, as although the skills aren't always there, the passion usually is.

If I can manage to get this to run, I will leave you an honest review in the form of a comment :).

I wish this game could have had a little bit more gameplay added in time for the end of the jam. I actually really enjoyed running around the little world.

Thanks so much for your kind comment! I am in complete agreement about the graphics. In future builds of the game, I would aim to keep the style roughly the same, but add some kind of 'blending' between different kind of blocks, to help smooth out the transition between 'em.

I'd love to see a more balanced version of this game :) I played the browser version, so I'll actually give the executable a download and see how that works out. Will update my review based on the Windows version.

I am amazed. I've never been a big fan of puzzle games, but this game had me coming back again today, for a second go.

I'll probably be playing this for a good few weeks. And not just because I'm dumb!

I actually played the game through completely, and it was very cute and creative. My one complaint would have to be the 'grindiness' of it. I spent more time searching for things than I did discovering anything new. It also had some bad lag + vsync issues on my end.

I have to say that it wasn't my type of game, but I can appreciate all of the effort that clearly went into it, and I wish you the best of luck with the Jam!

I'm glad you enjoyed the humorous side to the game. The 'shaped' crafting recipes wasn't actually meant to be a thing, but I could add enough elements in time to allow people to craft everything from life and 'entity'.

In future, I really hope to continue development on the game and work out some of these kinks, while balancing a fine line between humor, creativity, and mystery.

Thanks Steel! I didn't have time to fully realize the tutorial I had in mind, and will definitely be adding a more 'gameplay-focused' learning method in the future. Instead of explaining everything in a book, I'd like to have Phil give you the basic rundown of everything.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated!

I had to use the information menu to polish out all these pesky bugs... with lightning! Mwahahaha.

Can't wait to see a post-jam version of this :)

I managed to get the game to run for a short while. I didn't really see where crafting came into play, but I do REALLY love the little voxel-ie boys, and the overall aesthetic of the game. Please give me a shout if you manage to fix whatever bug is causing the persistent crashes.

A great concept, overall. Was a bit too slow, so much so that I actually thought it was lagging for the first half of the game.

I really dig the idea of combining body parts and stealing people's hearts :)

Neat little game. I enjoyed the time management feature, and surprisingly managed to get 10 / 12 eggs on my first run through :) Might even give this a second play through!

I enjoyed the concept surrounding this game. Much like with a few of the jam games, I'd love to see what could happen with this project with a bit more time :) Played and rated, nice work Anton!

I worked out how to play the game, but sadly it is incredibly glitchy.

Some form of tutorial would have been very useful, in this case.

Items expire too quickly, but you wouldn't know because the inventory doesn't get update sometimes.

A really neat concept, I just wish there was more time so that the dev could flush it out :) I'd play a full version of this with a little more time put into it.

Fun little game :) It's a little too fast for my liking, I think  clients should maybe hang around for a bit longer. The crafting mechanic is confusing at first, but after a while I got the hang of it.

I've uploaded a small hotfix (with permission from the GameJam organizers) that fixed a tiny bug that caused the game to instantly crash on older systems.

Thanks a million for the wonderful comment, Boon! It's an honor to have such a favorable review coming from someone with a project as polished as yours.
