I love the simple racing-style game, there's a sense of childhood memories. Very fun game with interesting ideas. It would be interesting to realize the turns by turning the map, I'm not sure if it would become better but also harder to realize if you don't turn the map but only turn the car or turn the car when the map will assist in a small turn.

Beat SquareCool idea and i love how you added the different options for each race! I felt like the camera movement and the zoom (mainly the zoom) made the car a little hard to control. But either way, good job!

Size QuestCool racing game and impressive that you seem to have a working multiplayer in here.
Sadly I could not get used to the map rotating instead of my car, which made the game more frustating than fun :(
I suggest adding a setting whether to rotate the map or the car.
The game feels like TurboSliders, a game whcih I played a LOT of at LAN parties in the early 2000s.
If you want to continue work on this game then consider having different types of cars, with their own characteristics in speed, acceleration and grip (look up TurboSliders for an example of the different cars they had.
Overall still impressed with the working multiplayer so congrats on your submission ! :)
Sorry to hear that you had a hard time.
I thought of this game because I like Trackmaina, a 3D racing game, where the map rotates with your car, so that was what was natural to me (and I don't do 3D games, so 2D it was). I probably could counter the rotation and add that as an option in the settings (it's getting full lol), but I just didn't think of that. After the jam is done I will update it with that setting.

Weight & AteI was thinking about adding some more visuals but I felt that it would a) take too much time to be worth it and b) I felt that the retro style of the game would almost be wasted on too much scenery. I do wish that Godot had more colored shapes to choose from, somewhat like their collisionShape2D node, but making that like a colorRect or something. I do kind of like how everything is geometric though, so at some point I am just going in circles and this is all my opinion anyway, but I hope that provides you with my reasoning.
I liked the game, it's surprising that it has working multiplayer, congratulations. The music fit the game's art style well and the controls were pretty fun. It's a surprisingly feature-packed game. Nice work!

The Grand TiltReally awesome that you added multiplayer, it's almost unheard of in game jams! :) Reminded me of trackmania, and after a few tries on each track I was able to remember the turns enough ahead of time to make it really fun to complete and beat my own personal best. I love the ability to see ghosts from prior runs. A really nice entry!

Chill PillSuper fun racer! music and art really brought me back to the NES days. took a sec to get used to the map rotating instead of the car but once I got that down I could drift super well. nearly beat world records on a few maps. so close. a minimap or maybe a slightly more zoomed out view would be useful since sometimes those turns come at you QUICK.
