On the brigth side that means the game has a good visibility/follower group and that the dev may get a revenue out of it.

I wonder if G-drive pays the content creator for each attempted download. If they do that's probably next to nothing mind you, but...

On the downside that's dowloads AND checks quota. Wich means the more we check if/when the game is available the more we restart the countdown.

No, Google Drive doesn't pay anyone anything.  It's a personal file storage solution, and it really isn't intended for mass distribution.  If more than a few people download it over a short period of time, it shuts down distribution for a day.  That's why almost everybody distributes with one of the other services like Mega.

Interresting input. Mega isn't without it's own set of issues though.
