This is really not easy to help you here. Your decription is a mystery. Because you said you downloaded 32 and 64 versions i think your system is win10 then?

You should spend some time to learn more about filehandling on your system.

Each file has a filename and a file extension. On win systems some fileextension are hidden per default. If you want to see the extensions you can use this.

https://www.technipages.com/show-hidden-files-windows

The 32version and the 64version are both .zip extensions. Zip is a format to "pack" the data. You need first to unpack the data, before you can start it. If you try to start HOS inside a .zip folder, this didn´t work. So if you work on win10 you can rightclick the zip and use extract all or drag and drop the zip with right mouse button and use extract. You can also use other programms like winzip, winrar, 7zip to unpack if you like.

After you have unpacked the zip you can look in the new created unpacked folder and start the unpacked "High school of Succubus.exe"

If you rightclick a file there is always one option in bold text. This is the default option for double click a file. So on .exe it's execute. Double click a  .exe will start this "executable" file. If you double click on a zip file, windows 10 will automatically open it and you can browse the packed data nearly like a normal folder, but you can´t start a "executable" from there, when the executable needs another file to work, like data.pck in our situation.

The random symbols you can see, when you try to look a "nontextfile" with a texteditor, this depends on your system when you use show, which programm is opened to view the file. Normaly, if you want to look .exe files, you better use a kind of hexeditor, instead of a texteditor.

HOS Download has no autoinstaller, so you need to unpack the zip and choose manuel the location for the unpacked file, before you can start it.
