So I'm able to launch the game, sort of, and I can go through the prologue. But when it gets to the actual gameplay, it crashes immediately and soon the game refuses to launch. I'm using a Moto E. I don't understand why it won't work.

The game ran fine until 0.8.0 was released, there were never any crashes till that version was put out (which ultimately resulted in 0.8.2 that supposedly alleviated some of the crashing). I'm using the exact same phone and can play 0.75.2 without fail and issue, but as soon as newer versions are loaded, there are frequent crashes.
So I don't believe it is exclusively a ram or phone problem. Something got added or done along the way in version 0.8.0 that hasn't been addressed or corrected yet.
honestly I've only been able to get it to run once my first couple attempts it crashed till today but when I tried naming her(the bot) things slowed down (which I blame my phone it is a bit old but not that old) so when I tried relaunching and loading my first and only save it seemed to not have saved so when starting a new game I couldn't get past the the first session as the times before
