The rifle does exist in-world... I found it. It was too heavy to add to my inventory at the time, so I tried to carry it outside but when I dropped it it immediately broke. Not sure if this is a bug or by design.
oh i found it, i couldn't put it in my inventory even tho its empty, also its more fragile than a dorito chip, maybe its designed to be that way i dont know
Thanks for confirming... I was thinking maybe it's because it can't be utilized yet. Also possible it's by design to be extremely frustrating. Another theory, maybe you need the backpack? I haven't purchased it yet but assume it will increase my inventory capacity.
The backpack is a separate "storage" item that you can put items into and wear but it doesn't increase how much you can carry directly. Even with an empty inventory the rifle can't be carried. I'm led to believe that it simply can't be used in this stage of development.
