Based on buying many indie games in general, I find releasing a finished, or very nearly finished game, gets you the best sales. Also allowing a free demo, that lasts about an hour, helps too. Finally a cheap walkthrough for a couple of dollars right from the get-go helps too.

I thought the same. However, I have a lot of demands for a steam release as soon as possible.
I don't intend to rush it though.
