Buy a crowbar from the shop, pick up the crowbar and just kinda keep hitting the crate with it til it breaks, if you hear wood breaking noises its working
also it might require you to have prop sounds enabled in the settings, i have no idea why but for some reason i had to turn that on to even break stuff.
