Yes.
When you train Wolfstar certain stats go up while others go down.  High level strength will win you the roller coaster rides, but at the cost of your wisdom stat which makes you terrible at video games, and vice versa.  It's easier to get a game over if you just focus on playing video games instead of training at the gym, and then challenging Wingo to the rollercoaster rides.
