Bugfixing after submissions close (presumably DO NOT?)

Just a quick question,

I would presume we are not to make any changes to our submissions once the deadline hits, until after voting has completed? (Eg fixing bugs)

Just wanting to clarify, I presume not as that could easily be unfair, essentially allowing more development time, but asking as I remembered a minor bug that'll drive me up the wall (but is fine) and wanting to remedy a usability issue but I wont get home from work until the deadline closes.

Also didnt see this anywhere so I figure asking this question might be useful for all of us.

In the past, we have allowed exception for catastrophic bugs (eg. 'game instantly crashed because I forgot to include the ini file!' or similar).

Things that need to be addressed for the game run.

I'm definitely sympathetic to your plight, but unless it's something that renders the game inert, I'm going to have to take a hard line on this and say no bug fixes until after the voting ends.  You are right, it's just an issue of fairness.

If it helps, I just realized my game was built with the icon from Yulpers (my last OGA game jam game) because I recycled the project files and forgot the change the .ico file.  TBH, I'll bet the 'properties' on the exe are all wrong too.  Guess I should have used my last five minutes before the deadline double checking everything again instead of taking that victory lap!

Coolbeans, I thought that'd probably be the case, thanks for clarifying quickly though!

On the plus side I could use the downtime, I've burnt enough midnight oil to make BHP jealous ;)

By the way, thank you for hosting this Game Jam, it's been the perfect storm for me to actually make and release a complete game (even if flawed) for the first time and Ive had an absolute riot doing so!

Thanks for being understanding about this.

Out of Depths looks awesome!   Excited to check it out.  :)
