hi does anyone know how to download this on chromebook? ive downloaded linux and from there im a bit stuck... any help would be useful!

It depends if your chromebook has support for linux binaries.

yea i have linux beta turned on in settings and i have the linux terminal, i just cant quite figure out how to open these file types there

unzip it, and then you should see a _Data folder, and two files named .86, and .86_64

Type "chmod +x AShortHike.x86" in a terminal when you are inside the folder. Then type "./AShortHike.x86"

The first command makes this file executable, so you can run it. The second line executes it. I haven't really used chromeos so I don't know how their terminal stuff works, but this is how you would run it on linux.

You might be able to run it with Crostini (Linux Beta in Settings), but I'm not making any promises and it would be more of a hassle to get working well than it's worth. Your best bet here is to run it on a device that isn't a Chromebook.

If you can't figure it out on your own or by doing a simple Google search, then Linux is probably not for you and you should look into using a more traditional OS like Windows. Since you're on a Chromebook, your best bet is to get a different device. Sorry, but I'm just saying it like it is. I doubt this would run well, if at all, under Crostini anyways.

This is a useless and unhelpful comment.

I wouldn't say it's useless or unhelpful. I'm simply saying it like it is: Crostini was not made to run games and most games simply will not run with it. If they're not able to figure it out on their own (Linux is an OS where you'll have to figure out a lot of things for yourself), the best option is to use a different OS. Don't get me wrong, I love Chrome OS - my daily driver is a Chromebook! - but it's quite clear that they were not made with the intent of them being used for PC gaming.
