I think a fun thing to do would be being able to keep shirts unlocked via different backgrounds through consecutive playthroughs. Overall the design of the shirts don't seem to do much more than just Asterion commenting on its design at first use, so being able to keep unlocked shirts (at the very least) is a nice reward for multiple playthroughs as different backgrounds.
