Excuse me while I rant about modern media
The media is kind of a mess rn. Lemme rant about current ANIMATIONS since it's a topic I am healthily obsessed with and cannot get enough of cuz it's my one true love. After Camilo. I don't know why, but I really like Camilo.

Animation is really doing good nowadays with wonderful movies but there are also some not so wonderful ones. Raya and the Last Dragon released last year was... nope. The movie displays a message of "trust" and how trust is important you get it. But it only surface lever explains trust, Sisu, the last dragon, is dumb and naive, blatantly trusting anyone she meets without them earning that trust first, Raya is closed off, she doesn't trust anyone at all, she believes only bad can come from trusting people. Neither are in the fucking right but the movie be like "oh noooo Sisu is right to trust everyone and Raya beliefs are bad, you have to trust everyone, trust doesn't need to be earned" and I'm just done. You know what happened when Raya trusted someone without them earning that trust first, the gem thingy cracked and destroyed the world, that's what happened when Raya blindly trusted someone. Trust must be earned not blindly given, but you also must not distrust everyone because you'll just end up lonely. That's how trust works disney, get some help DiSnEy. Speaking of Disney, they're assholes, they need help. I've said this before but Disney's current goals are money and only money. They bought Marvel. That's how big disney is. Anyway I like the current direction things are headed in except for Disney's power-hungry/money-hungry company buying spree. Especially from a representation standpoint, Turning Red with Chinese-Canadian, Encanto with Colombians, does Luca count... anyway yea there's slowly more representation rolling in even with a Turning Red character being confirmed as gay, Priya. But I hope they branch out more with this representation, like maybe Middle Eastern cultures or African cultures or Indian cultures etc. and I can't wait to see where this is going next. I hope the good movie streak doesn't break. But it doesn't stop with movie in animation. Recent series The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder went above and beyond, while also keeping the magic of the original show alive. Giving Penny a boyfriend, or well potential love interest if you wanna be literal with it was a good choice and representation like the new kids' parents being gay and also Michael being the best Michael he could be. It's the 2020s and who even cares about gay, white, black, asian, european, rich or poor. We're all people weather we like it or not. And Amphibia and The Owl House kicking off their new episodes wonderfully, I really can't like- they're such good fckn shows. Anyway yea Animation is getting it good so I HOPE it keeps going.
