I feel like I should have used "fun" instead of "successful". I'm literally just making games because it's fun for me, but I suppose games also need to be fun for people playing it, too. I'd add more stuff to my game if I hadn't just released it. I guess I rushed development so much that I forgot to make it fun. From now on, instead of rushing things so much that it greatly affects its quality, I'm going to take my time implementing new features that make the game more fun. It would also be a wonderful thing for me as a developer, being able to learn new skills and using them in future games.

A cool thing about self-publishing these days is you can keep updating your game. Sometimes you have to do it because say, Apple broke everything with their latest iOS, but aside from that I like to keep improving and polishing it for my own satisfaction, and I feel I have the best results when users are interested enough in the game/app to provide feedback and suggestions (generally, they tend to be nicer if they feel like they're part of the development process, although there's always someone who thinks it should be a totally different game).
