AHEM so I was playing Poptropica and... I have to say... I'm disappointed. I don't know who the new CEO is, but they have failed Poptropica and all it's fans. Now I was excited when I saw that Poptropica had some new islands. So I checked them out and... it's just... dumb. It's become so plain. It's not interesting anymore and it has lazy jokes. It's almost like they think kids are dumb. The reason I always liked poptropica was because it was difficult. It was complicated it took thought and it was always interesting with creative and wonderful concepts and great jokes and all. It didn't think kids were dumb or only liked things as long as there were fun colors. There is a reason Poptropica was so popular. Because it was weird and wonderful and knew that kids aren't idiots, they can think just like anyone else. It's bad enough that the new islands are bad, but they also had to change the old islands. I was playing mythology and... it's like everything is just done FOR you. You don't have to put Cerberus to sleep anymore. You don't have to earn the trust of the goddess of music. You don't need a coin to pass the river Styx anymore. You don't have to try and avoid obstacles to pass the river anymore. You don't have to convince Hercules to help you anymore. You don't have to take a quiz on the gods and goddesses to get the mirror from Aphrodite anymore. In fact you don't have to do anything anymore! Just walk around and everything is done for you. It's not interesting or fun anymore and it's just another dumb kids game. How could they do this? I just can't believe Poptropica of all games would become like this. It's just disappointing.
Fr. poptropica was a small party of my child and it means a lot to me. The changes just ruined the game. I completed Carrot Factory and was so proud of myself, but I feel like it lacked challenge, sure- Pelican rock is still hard but the only reason why it’s hard is because you have to wait so long to do something, and when you finally do something worthwhile that can help you escape it’s: “the guard is coming back, I should leave” or something like that. Poptropica is no longer worth my time or fun anymore.
