At the moment, it is not possible to change the duration of the notes. Some instruments play notes with a duration of 1 sixteenth note (one square in the grid). Others have a longer duration, which can be 2 sixteenth notes (e.g., electric pianos) or 32 sixteenth notes (e.g., pads). There is a length symbol in the Instruments window, next to each instrument.
