Oh my gosh. I love the main character's perspective (Even magic can be explained academically!) Every detail about this world is so wonderful, and I love seeing it through the protagonist's sensible, yet mildly sardonic viewpoint ("Freed from the tyranny of breath" is my new favorite phrase now. I just love it a lot ok)
