Tbh I'd find it pretty messed up to give us her card then have that happen without a way to reverse it somewhere down the line. Especially since she was an awesome character.
Though if I'm honest that event might have killed this game for me. This game's clearly got dark aspects to it, but child murder? Much as I respect the event as a narrative piece, being an author myself, honestly that sort of stuff is too much for me. I play games like this for fun, and that sort of stuff crossed too big a line for me.
Not saying it was a wrong decision - as said, appreciate the narrative nature of it - but if it's going to be that sort of story, I doubt I'll enjoy it any more personally.
I actually finally found a minor amount of genuine interest in the game, for once it didn't feel like generic shonen schlock. I mean the protagonist I could write a volume about how uninteresting he is and how unoriginal this portrayal of a character is but I will freely admit in that one instance I can see some potential.
