???: "Ah-well I'm currently looking into how Ms. Linh's cybernetic makeup could potentially factor into her ability to fight off the disease-"
???: "Well, I'm really not sure yet-however, her operating system is far more advanced than most cyborgs, and her ratio of human to mechanical parts is the highest I've seen in a while...I figure it's worth it to at least look into..."
"Hey Doc-what's this thing?"
She was pointing to a small, dark square at the top of her spine, similar to an ID chip
She zoned out like halfway through
"Ok...I'm sure that all sounded very smart, but would you like to try again in English?"
???: "Hmmmm...would you mind if I tried something?"
"Uh-sure, I guess?"
He pressed his fingers on her neck, pinching at the vertabrae just above her shoulders
???: "Do you feel anything...unusual?"
"Um-no, not really-"
pain erupted up and down her spine, exploding into her veins. She screamed, falling off the table and crumpling onto the floor
She let out a strangled cry of protest as her eyes fluttered open, running her diagnostics scan
???: "mhm-I was curious to see how the chip affected her nerves, since the base of the spine is where much of our nerves congregate before sending messages to our brain. I wondered if it was possible that the chip somehow kept her from experiencing some pains due to blocking them off-the temporary shock to Ms. Linh's system must've caused her body to reset itself."
the little orange light flickered in the corner of Cinder's vision-he was lying.
