Some thoughts

After a couple of hours I must say I am impressed. Art direction and music is absolutely amazing imo. As is the mutation system.  Are you supposed to lose everything when you quit though, or is that an early access thing?

The actual shooting (with xbone controller) took some getting used to compared to other twin stick shooters, where my right stick is constantly at the edge adjusting my aim. If I try that here my cursor gets lost off screen and adjusting it is sluggish, but I am adapting. I get why controlling distance is important for nades and stuff, but trying to keep my cursor really on the enemies and dodging and shooting  etc., made the combat a little less fluent than it could be, especially in the first hours. Could be me of course.

I like the enemies overall, although some of the rushing enemies seem just a little  too fast (might be getting old tho =)). Not a huge fan of enemies popping up in previously cleared areas, but that's not a big deal.

Not exactly sure how the map works yet. It doesn't always seem to update.

Platforming with the dash is kind of tricky as it is, for me, not entirely sure why.

Would be nice to have sensitivity sliders for gamepads and the ability to adjust auto aim.  I'm also having a bit of trouble getting a consistent fire rate with the pistol. You have to press the trigger down pretty far before it registers, it seems.

That's about it for now, hope it helps. Keep up the great work, excited to see where this one is going!

Thanks for the feedback! We're still improving the controller support, so look out for improvements in that over development. The latest patch did some tweaks to the controller aiming so it should be a bit easier to use. Eventually we'll get around to adding controller re-binding as well.

The map has been fixed as well so it should update from the beginning of the level always now.

Also there is no persistence with mutations yet, but that should be added in the next week or two!

Sweet, looking forward to the controller love.

One thing I forgot to mention is a pretty massive framerate drop in the second world, compared to the first. It slows down even further when you stand on a bubble. Even if I turn off shadows and set graphics to low. While the first world runs at a smooth 60 fps on medium.

My specs:

Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_ldr_escrow.180330-1600)
Motherboard: MSI  MS-7917
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4690K CPU @ 3.50GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.5GHz
Memory: 16384MB RAM
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970

We did a couple optimizations that should improve level 2's performance in the most recent patch. Definitely still has some work to go though to get it fully smooth!
