Found a frustrating bug that erases all saved data.

I am sorry in advance for my poor grammar as well as punctuation (Italics are side notes). Bold is stuff about where I am in the game incase it helps. As the Title suggests I found a glitch, it happened to me twice now: First in the previous update. Then Second one in this update, but both things had the same result. Said result as you guessed from reading the Title ends in a crash that reboots my windows pc and when I run the game again it erases all my saved data and forces me to start a new game. The second one just happened to me so I think this isn't random and I might have a hunch for how to avoid it (though it may be hard). When I play the game I usually leave it running in the background so it can generate money from the kingdom, but if you leave it on for long enough it will crash and force you to start a new game. The reason I suggests that is when I just booted up my pc I saw that the game didn't close, the game I left for two weeks and I was playing for two weeks before I had to take a brake (yes I was leaving it in the background and went back to it to play in the first two weeks) . The other time this glitch happened was in the previous update, where I did not leave my game opened for two weeks without playing, as well being the first game I installed on my pc by the way. Anyways this was the sequence of events of the first run that happened not in order: I was leaving my stuff in the background for most of the day and played at night and collected the money then proceeded to play. I played the game but in terms of story I recently met miss unbreakable armor. Met the lady in the tower after arresting her kid for pickpocketing and jumping through the portal the kid made to go to her mama. Discovered the thieves den/guild (forgot what it is calledand side stuff is meeting the military squad leaders of your country and made the monster pens. The companions I met were the shy angel, vampire, fisting slave, stereotypical elf companion but is cute, booze guns and bombs chick, first girl, the religious damage sponge, veggie loving draconic, and miss not a thief. I wasn't that far with them I just recently had a foot job by vampire and met veggie lover's mom, when the glitch happened was when i was trying to impregnate the forest spirit in the elf woods, also hellhound and the wyvern (both were from the first sex scene). After I impregnated hellhound and the wyvern I decided to stop and I noticed the game was chugging a bit, then it crashed. When I opened The game up again the continue button was grayed out. like I had just installed the game, when I tried to continue nothing happened . That was the first time it happened, the second time it happened was the one I left for two weeks. I was going to collect the money but it was chugging I was trying to save then close the game before it could crash(since I thought the glitch would happen again) but I was also dealing with some other window (I was trying to play a dvd, it kept popping up) and then it crashed erasing my progress though it was not as far as the previous playthrough.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          SYNOPSIS:  the glitch I found is a very problematic since  it is about play time, if you play for long enough it could crash. Though I never closed the window at all even when I was done playing I just left it up there. I hope it is fixed and I wish you a happy holidays since I don't know if you do christmas.                              BTW was my writing good and helpful I spent almost three hours writing this and editing this over and over now I just wanna look away from words for a while, man I put more effort in this than some of my old school stuff. Stay safe where ever you are, as a fan of your work 'it would be tragic to hear all may typing had gone to waste if you died'(     joke:)   ) and have a happy new year!                                                                                                                                                        sincerely                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            by someone who made an account just to tell you this stuff

My best guess would be, that the engine is not made to run for such a long time and will eventually break down on all the information it has to temporarily save. Some people have played for 100+ hours, just not in one session, and a lot left the game open overnight, and both never had the same issue. That's why I think it most likely only happens when the game stays open for a very long time. Maybe the age or power of your system  could also play a part in this, but I can't say for certain.

I think there are two things I can do about this.
1. Limit the amount of gold you can get over time from mines and taxes until the player withdraws it. This way, leaving the game open for a long time does not help people any longer, and will make them close the game more often. It also decreases the work for the game in the background, as it can skip the increase of the gold once the limit is reached.

2. To deal with the not yet perfect balancing of the game, and help people enjoy the game without having to resolve to such options, I'll (temporarily?) add a cheat option for gold.

On a sidenote, when your game crashes, there is a chance that your saves still exist but are not recognized by the game. In this case, you'd still be able to find the saves in the www/save folder with the numbers of the saveslot in which they are. If they're in the folder but not shown in the loading screen, you can easily fix it:
- Move the existing save files out of the folder.
- Start a new game.
- Create new save files in every slot.
- Overwrite the new save files in the www/save folder with the files you moved out of the folder in the first step.
-> The loading screen will show the wrong information in the loading screen about party, playtime and such, but when you load the save, it should be your old progress now. Loading and saving again into the same save slot will update the preview information in the loading screen.

Thanks for the long message, I appreciate it!

I have tried to do the exporting save then importing the save and it was unsuccessful, it also made a sound possibly indicating that it would not work.(Incase it helps with the programing or anyone playing is the reason I typed this reply.)  Although it didn't work I am thankful for the suggestion, since there is not much to type for in this scenario I will not write something a page long, have a good day both you the author and the people reading this. Also if any of you are feeling sad remember 2020 is almost over so we can put this disaster behind us, and see family again without it being considered a health hazard!

Thank you for the advice on how to fix it, I will try it.                                                                                                                                                                                                                            P.S. my pc is a hp laptop on windows 10 and I had it for a couple of years now, I forgot when, it can run the sims 3 smoothly and it just chugs at WOW (10-7 FPS maybe less). Incase it helps
