download forbidden?

The download failed because it said it was forbidden, I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do...

Can you clarify? Does the game start downloading and then stop part way? This sounds like it may be related to itch.io, and not Celeste specifically.

I think I initially got this message but assumed my winrar wasn't working right as I kept getting this message:
\celeste-win.zip: The archive is either in unknown format or damaged

So I downloaded winzip and it seems to come up error, empty zip file

I may be doing something wrong so any suggestions would be welcomed!

Can you tell me what the size of the archive is? It sounds to me like the download didn't finish properly or something?

It happened to me too. It is an issue with itch's network or similar. I had to download it a second time but then it worked all good.

The problem is still a huge issue for me. I've tried chrome, edge and firefox all in alternate download mode multiple times and it still just doesn't work. In chrome i get a download forbidden error, in edge it just stops downloading and in firefox it fails and if i press retry it says it finishes downloading and winrar says that it's in unkown format or damaged. This problem persists for every single game too.

I have had a related issue before where a large download would fail halfway through consistently, so it's likely an itch.io problem, or how their download servers are with browsers. Downloading the itch.io desktop app fixed that for me, since itch.io's not going to give up on it's own servers.

I have a similar issue with Firefox. I click the download button and get the thanks for downloading message but nothing has been downloaded.

I keep trying to download Friday Night Funkin but the the downloads say either "Failed-Forbidden" or "Failed-Server Problem" what do I just wanna get funky T_T
