I am wondering if it would be at all possible to play this on a Mac? Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. :)
I think you can run it in Parallels, but the calculation of casualties will not work because Mac does not support compute shaders. I will try to find an alternative for Mac one day.

It will run on a Mac in a windows emulator, but the calculation of casualties will not work.
