🏰 50 Medieval 2D Game Backgrounds (Royalty-Free)
Hey everyone! Another background pack for my Itch store, this time back to the past.

Quick note: the backgrounds are AI-generated and manually refined, color-corrected and quality-checked. Mentioning it upfront so it's clear.
The pack covers a wide range of medieval environments: fortified castles, bustling market squares, cozy taverns, working craft shops, rural villages, sacred monasteries and snowy winter scenes (castle great halls, blacksmith workshops, harbors, churchyards, throne rooms and more). All scenes share the same art style and color grading, so they cut together cleanly within a project.
One detail worth mentioning for devs: each scene has an open foreground area along the bottom, designed to leave room for character sprites and UI overlays without covering important elements. 14 of the 50 backgrounds also include a matching transparent foreground layer that can be stacked on top for parallax scrolling and added depth. Aimed at slice-of-life games, narrative adventures, point-and-click titles, visual novels and historical-setting RPGs, but also useful for trailers, cutscenes and tabletop sessions.
