I had fun going through the different stages of the game.

Using the spear against the enemies was pretty satisfying, especially after I learned how to time its air attack.

The double jump was also pretty neat, but it was a double-edged sword as well (in a fun way, though).

The only thing that I found a bit underwhelming was the enemies.

They didn't feel threatening, considering how tanky Alesa was.

The only "real enemies" that made me die a lot were the moving screens and the platforming.

That corridor of exploding platforms at the end of Stage 1 was also a brutal tutorial on how to time your jump properly.

In retrospect, I think that was funny as hell, but only because I can laugh at the suffering of my past self now, lol.

Talking about the bosses, I think that most of them were ok.

But the ones that I defeated with satisfaction were the Rotten Knight and Count Mr. Bob.

It was very satisfying to defeat the final boss after dying several times, though.

Especially after I understood that rushing through it was a very bad idea.

That said, bless the cake.

PS. Now that I think about it, it makes sense that she would be tanky with that cake of hers lol.

Thank you so much for playing and for the feedback BlueRose!

The enemies (specially regular ones) were definitely not challenging at all. Some of them (like the plague doctors) were just tanky, but that's all. I'll definitely take that into account for any future project made with this engine.

The game was actually even more challenging and frustrating (more instances of instadeath, and the disappearing platforms didn't respawn at all), and I had a lot of trouble when it came to difficulty. It was either too easy or too hard. Making platfomers can be really hard. I recently updated the game to nerf the final boss, since I realized not many people figured out the intended way to avoid his attacks (I reckon you most likely figured out the intended strategy), and the axe actually damaged the player (and the knife could make Alesa die instantly for no reason at all). Pixel Game Maker is kinda hard to use, but it's so nice to make platformers like this one.

Thanks again for playing and for the feedback! : D
