I tried your game. Gotta say the music was very atmospheric and very fitting to the game. It left me both stressed and relaxed at the same time, which I thought was impossible. Apart from the fact that I punched a hole to my monitor and my keyboard looks like burnt minced beef, I really like  the smooth motion, the water, and coupled with the music, your was very relaxing. Also your attention to detail was very good(as time runs out, your character's fade lessens is pretty cool).

I would suggest to add the gems in the tutorial section to let the player's know what they look like, cause the first gem I found was the yellow one and I was confused for a second why the starfish looks like an octagon.
Overall, I think it was cool game.

I spent hours surfing Newgrounds for music.

I agree, the bombs were more annoying than I wanted them to be. I was also planning on making a mini-map so you can see where you are relative to the world, but I lost motivation at the end and wanted to wrap the project up as quickly as possible. Maybe in the future.

I have a different opinion. I actually did a lot better without taking notes like this. When this jam began, I searched for tips on how to do successful in a game jam and one of the things was to take notes and plan your stuff. I did do that, especially for a state machine for my game. 

But I happen to waste a lot of time and not being productive whatsoever. Then I just winged it and thought of stuff on the fly. That's the type of person I am. I was able to think of ideas spontaneously and let it come naturally while doing the stuff  and I got a lot of work done that way, instead of planning and forcefully trying to think. 

Just want to mention this so people alike can read.

My notes are also only like “idea kickoff”... 

I like the pen and paper as I can think somewhere on the coffee or so... And comp can be a disruption sometimes...

That diagram is very similar to a State Transition Diagram.

For larger projects, I like to plan my games out with these diagram, class diagrams, sequence diagrams etc. But for this jam, I didn't plan as much.

Yeah, it's cause it is. Later, I threw it away and a mental diagram was good enough.

My only notes were a first-day brainstorm of ideas for games in a MS word file.  I picked one and went with it (note--it's not clear how some would be made into games, just starting points, others are ideas for in-game mechanics, power-ups, etc.)

That's really long ideas list!

Looks it's really useful to write down each idea that pops up and then think about all of them, remove, combine...
